And every team you mentioned outside of CCC was from SA and Austin. Thats my point Callallen has feasted on the teams south of SA for years they are not even a top 20 program!!!
I agree, I always thought they play weak teams. Austin area has so much growth, that's why you are seeing LT, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Manor, etc.. The only team you heard about over that was Westlake until 6-7 years ago. Find the growth and you'll find the NEW dominant teams.

I dont think they won any state title but their win lose record is strong. I remember all the Limbricks, Terrence Currington, and Shaun Horn days.
wasn't there a couple of Hadnot's from Jasper also?
Hadnot was Kirbyville. Butch Hadnot went on to play at Texas. Before Hadnot you have Dexter 'Thomas' I think. Some of you remember how dominant Kirbyville was during those years. I just remember those two guys. Both unstoppable.
Maybe not quite unstoppable. Hadnot went out in the 2nd quarter his senior year I believe it was when playing Newton. Had a total of 8 or 10 yards.

Where they recruit all their skill players.
uhhhhh....no. one player came from Humble......he didnt get a title. None from NS..You'd be surprised how many "Studs" transfer into Katy and then LEAVE because they can't grasp the playbook and dont sniff the field. Katy isnt the most talented team, but they execute better than most. I've personally seen players from other schools come and after being told they'd be in a position battle with 3-4 other guys....some smaller and slower.....leave

pe2009 Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 Back to the topic...I'm pretty sure most of those teams had "Down" or rebuliding years....SLC was 3-6-1 in 1996, Permian was 3-6 in 1997 and went several years missing the playoffs...same with Abilene. Katy's WORST record since 1986 is 5-5....and have only missed the playoffs twice since then. Worst record since 1992 is 8-4 all this while other schools have been build in Katy...Cinco Ranch, Seven Lakes, Morton Ranch...and now Thompkins.
