Diboll vs Silsbee Regional Final

Will both squads want a series or do they want a 1 gamer?  IMO a 1 gamer benefits the Tigers as Powell is the real deal.... A series could go either way... I pulling for the Tigers in this one!!!!

Both teams are pretty evenly matched IMO. Played a close 6-4 game earlier in the season. I would venture to say Diboll has more pitching depth with 4 good ones & that Silsbe swings it better..I hope it's a 3 game series to be fair to the kids

True that game was close but you have to remember that it was raining that night and I don't think they saw Powell either..

I Overheard a conversation between very credible sources at the game today that said Silsbee wants 1, Diboll wants best of 3. It will come down to the flip. For Diboll, It is the first time to reach a regional final in this era of baseball. In the earlier game this season in Silsbee, Diboll was without 3 current starters due to basketball. Also heard that the game will be played at either Rice, U of H or Sam Houston, but not sure which one at this time. Either 1 or 2 of 3 will be a heck game/series. I would expect both to play hard, and the winner will represent the region well.

Some key players for Diboll were still playing soccer as well. Either way Powell will be hard to beat. As a Diboll fan, I am hoping for a 3 game series. Both teams made history for their schools and should be very proud.

Well, that conversation is incorrect.

Both teams have agreed to play a 3 game series. No coin flip. Now just working out when and where. Rice and UH are being considered.

Diboll has knocked off #7 Hudson in 1, and #8 Caldwell in three after losing game one. They then knocked off Hargrove in two, which beat BC, who knocked off the #1 Sweeny team. Throw in a two game sweep of a scrappy Palestine team and I think that should confirm that they are "tested." I am not trying to chip anybody off, but I am not sure that the Tigers have as good of a playoff resume.

According to Silsbee coaches, they were going to go with a 3 game series with Diboll or Huffman if possible. This was the plan all along, even before they defeated Carthage.

Silsbee never considered playing a 1 gamer with Diboll.

Why would these two not play in Woodville.  A nice central location and what was a very nice facility(I am assumig it sill is). That would make it easy on both schools and the fans.
