Texas High School Football Stadiums ...are some over-the-top?

Recommended Posts

Texas has some of the most incredible high school football stadiums in the country.  I grew up in the northeast and attended an affluent public school (same school that Texan's QB attended).  Our varsity field looks like the JV fields in Texas.  When you look at stadiums like Turner, Deer Park, Woodlands and others ...are they over-the-top dollar-wise for high school?  After seeing the size & atmosphere of Texas high school football stadiums, its no wonder our kids are ready for the college ranks.  I dare say some colleges see LESS people at games than our high schools.

Interesting article on Allen Stadium.  $60 Million!!!

That's no joke. That's a proven fact. I know football players that have remarked on the difference in attendance between the high schools they attended and the colleges they now play for.

Wow....crazy.  I'm looking at Lamar's football field.  It's really not much better than many high school fields around here.  I guess I could add U of H to that list.

And that is a vast improvement on how Lamar's field looked before they almost completely rebuilt it.

    • I personally hope PN-G gets 2nd gets to the 2nd round wins the flip against SOC and drag them them to Houston to play
    • I like option number two, PNG and Nederland both win. Nederland i’ll be the district champion, number 1 seed or whatever you want to call it. Yes I know that if two or three teams tie with the same record, they will be called co-champions and everyone gets a trophy. One team however will go in as the first place team in district and will play the fourth place team in the bi-district round. If PNG and Nederland both win, Nederland will be #1. • Virginia has same day voter registration. A person can literally walk in to the voting location, register and then vote. So the premise that Virginia might be stopping people with a legitimate right to vote is nonsense. From what I gather in the news report, assuming that the ones I have read are correct, the people that were removed, filled out a drivers license registration and marked that they were not an American citizen. Could the person have made a mistake bychecking the box incorrectly? Although unlikely it is certainly possible. That same person who was removed can go into the same voting location where he would have voted and again, complete a voter registration and then vote.  That went into the Supreme Court’s decision.  If such a person votes by registering on election day, he fills out a provisional ballot. Provisional ballots are not originally counted and or not counted unless needed. For example….  Statewide there are 500 provisional ballots cast. A person wins the election by 4,000 votes. That would be no need to count the provisional ballots as it will not matter. Then let’s say there are 5,000 provisional ballots cast in the election. One candidate then wins the election by only 1,500 votes. In that case, the election could definitely swing on those provisional ballots. The state will then investigate each person to make sure they live at the correct address listed and that they are American citizens. If these things are correct, the vote will then be counted. Safe Harbor is not untillll…… I think December 17th this year so there will be six weeks to verify the provisional ballots if needed. The purging of the names of people who checked a state form saying that they were not an American citizen, will not stop that same person from voting.
