LadyRaiderDad Posted June 12, 2013 Report Share Posted June 12, 2013 Beaumont’s own Albion Hurricanes U16 girls’ soccer team qualified for the US Youth Soccer National Tournament to be held in Orlando, Florida July 10-16. This past week, June 6-9, the team competed in the US Youth Soccer regional tournament that was held in Decatur, Alabama. One state championship team represented each of the 12 states in Region III. The girls earned the right to play in the regional tournament by winning the South Texas State tournament that was held in May. In pool play at the Region III President's Cup Regional tournament, the Hurricanes defeated South Carolina: 2-1, Arkansas: 5-0, and Tennessee: 5-1They then advanced to the Semi-final where they eliminated Louisiana: 1-0.In the Region III championship game they remained undefeated with a 2-1 win over North Carolina. (Note: NC won the National Championship last year)Albion Hurricanes 97G Blue E will advance to President's Cup National tournament in Orlando, Florida July 10-14. There will be one representative for each of the four regions in the United States at the event. The members of this Beaumont select soccer team attend different high school in the East Texas Area.
