great read !!! historically who had the best defense in setx / golden triangle starting with 1970's ?

Dangerfield i think in 1985 outscored their opponents 651-8 and won state. I know they were a small school but to only give up 8pts in 15 games is impressive.

i know from 83 -87 pa sfa had dominating  defenses in the golden triangle , they went deep into the playoffs in 83 and 86-87

[/quote] im not too sure about 96 , i played against them in 84 -85 . i know a read an old article that i cant find no more but from 83-86 they had the best defense in the golden triangle they gave up little to no points at all . im sorry i meant from 83-86

Do you remember the ref interference that happened at Deer Park some years back?  Their tight end went straight down the middle of the field, ball was thrown perfect, and the ref made the play of the year "defending" the play.  Ref got knocked out for his trouble.

La Porte 2011 was one of the most opportunistic D's I've seen in many years. Problem is, I think the D scored almost as much as the O.  :o

[/quote]HA!!! You know it's true. It's been a long time since I've seen a D score over 70 points in 10 games at the top level of competition. The LP D was averaging almost 2 TD's/game in 2011. The O stank.
