Beaumont Blast 18U / Odom / Plano Diamond Elite Showcase Tournament

[Guest Blast 2015]

    Beaumont Blast 18U / Odom traveled to Plano to represent southeast Texas in the 2013 Diamond Elite Showcase tournament.  Blast / Odom is eligible to play in 16u tournaments (except for one player) but has been competing in all 18U events.
    Blast competed in five games with the sixth one being canceled due to in-climate weather.  Blast won 3 of the 5 games and ended the remaining 2 games in ties.  Blast managed a 6-5 win over the ASA 3rd ranked team in the State of Texas.  In 114 at bats Blast sustained only 12 strike outs and recorded 2 out of the park home runs, one by Taryn Huff and one by Taylor Odom.
    Blast attracted a lot of positive attention from the colleges represented at the tournament.  Blast players and coaches were approached by a D1 College and several junior colleges.  Blast was also invited by a D2 College, who expressed an interest in the Blast players, to attend an exposure event (round robin) this fall.
    Congratulations to the 18U Blast players and to the organization.  The hard work and team work is beginning to pay off in great ways.  It is a tremendous honor as a coach / parent to hear comments in the stands from spectators, college coaches and opposing coaches about the positive attitude projected by the Blast players and how well the players compete in a team effort.  God Bless You All and keep up the good work.
