Guest EagleFan01 Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 The following is a listing of each current Regions overall record top five teams(AA-1 only), based on their overall records from the 1986 thru the 2012 seasons based on statistics from PigskinPrep.com website under the same heading provided. Their list was divided showing each district's members record. I took those figures and formed a Regional top five and then a statewide top ten. (W-L-T) followed by the district number the team listed participates in( ). There were actually a few surprises to me in the final top ten rankings. History always has interested me. Region 1.1. Idalou 238-74-3 (2)2. Littlefield 224-84-4 (1) 3. Childress 216-92-2 (1)4. Wall 193-108-1 (3)5. Denver City 173-104-2 (2)(No team in district 4 made the top five.)Region 2.1. Daingerfield 250-84-3 (8)2. Pilot Point 240-81-3 (5)3. Commerce 207-109-4 (6)4. Boyd 204-110-0 (5)5. Lone Oak 192-100-8 (7)(All districts represented in this region.)Region 3.1. Newton 257-73-2 (10)2. Tatum 243-84-2 (9)3. Crockett 211-98-2 (11)4. East Chambers 173-117-1 (10)5. Jefferson 169-132-3 (9)(No district 12 representation.)Region 4.1. Cameron 221-94-2 (13)2. Marlin 188-116-2 (13)3. McGregor 187-113-4 (13)4. Odem 179-117-1 (16)5. George West 176-114-7 (15)(No district 14 representation)STATE TOP 10:(Wins listed only)1. Newton 2572. Daingerfield 2503. Tatum 2434. Pilot Point 2405. Idalou 2386. Littlefield 2247. Cameron 2218. Childress 2169. Crockett 21110. Commerce 207Towns beginning with the letter C absolutely dominate this poll, but at the back end of it. It was surprising to me that Newton had more wins over this period than did Daingerfield. Then again the poll began after Daingerfield had dominated in the very early 80's. Just some trivia that I found interesting. P.S. Did the same for AA-II on that site, but here is the top twenty for all of AA combined:1. Refugio 3042. Newton 2573. Daingerfield 2504. Canadian 2475. Crawford 2446. Tatum 2437. Pilot Point 2408. Idalou 2389. Rogers 23110. Holliday 22811. Corrigan-Camden 22712t. Littlefield 22412t. Schulenburg 22414. Elysian Field 22215. Cameron 22116. Gunter 21817. Childress 21618. Groveton 21319. Crockett 21120. Garrison 208
Jackthehammer Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 Id say Newton is one of the states best programs.
ChampionEagles Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 Newton also has the last state title from the Golden Triangle area, but it's always what have you done lately? Newton will once again be loaded at the beginning of the season, but where will they finish?
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 I want to catch a Littlefield Wildcat game this yr.
