Ozen is always somewhat of a mystery to me. They have some very talented kids this year will it be enough to make a run at the playoffs?
Ozen has a pretty tough schedule as does most of 20-4A. Below I have posted their schedule courtesy of SETXSPORTS to help you decide.......

Ozen always has talent, but with the change of all new coaching staff in it's first year, I'll have to wait and see.

Ozen starts the season off 0-5. Fans in the South End are calling for the coach to be fired. The Panthers finish the second half of the season 4-1, claiming the final playoff spot.

That's funny! Since they ran Central off the field last year even with y'all having a 3 year starter at QB, I would think Ozen would be favored over Central. You guys are breaking in a New Head Coach, a new coaching staff, and a new QB. I can't wait for this season to start.

I've said it once & I'll say it again to Jags fans. You have the WOS Coach, unless you snuck in a few quality players also the score will be about the same as last year. To the rest of 20 4A, I still don't understand how most bloggers have Ozen @ the bottom battling for last playoff spot.  1 - 3 in District will be a toss up. If it comes down to the last game of the Season, we will have a 3 Teams share the Title.  I have no idea why PNG is in the equation.

Maybe because Ozen is also breaking in a new coaching staff.... and the only teams you beat last year were Lumberton, PN-G and Central...

[/quote]He coached for WO-S over 5 years ago...NOT as a HC.  I'm still waiting to see how he does.  I'll be crucial on him just like any other coach untill we see results. 

But I do know that we have just as much talent as you guys on the sidelines and ANY coaching staff could be better than what he had the last couple of years.  That means we'll be competing for a playoff spot and possibly more.  Actually I think Ozen will be very darn good will flat out say that the Soul Bowl will be a VERY interesting one.

Soulja, in no way was I questioning the Coaches credibility. Was responding to blogger "Coach" that posted last yrs records. JMO, I think 1 - 3 in district is a toss up. Central & Ozen no doubt has talent. There is no reason for either school to miss playoffs with 4 teams going. Yeah I said it, no EXCUSE to be absent from post season. We should be one of the 4 every year with the talent we have. Other 2 spots the rest of the District can fight for that. It can be done. We did it @ Lincoln in Basketball forever. It takes belief & a Coach that knows & cares about their players. I can hear the naysayers now.
"Non Believers" Losers Mentality. Hopefully MaGee & Foreman have a winners mentality that rubs off on their programs. It starts at the top.

BigCam... if you keep up on these boards you know I have nothing but respect for both programs... with that said my honest opinion is that the Ozen program was left in more shambles then what Central was regardless of record...  just from what I have seen in the last 2 or 3 seasons... as far as my response you ask how bloggers could put Ozen fighting for the 4th spot and I am sure most use the previous seasons record as a standing point... I myself think PN-G is probably 1 more season away from where they need to be... I think Coach Foreman will turn around Central faster then Coach McGee will Ozen only reason I feel this way is I have more history on Coach Foreman then Coach McGee its not a knock against him just my feeling..

true but in that season also it took extra help for them to make the playoffs in which if i remember correctly was Central Loosing to PN-G and Vidor beating Livingston...

Totally understand Coach, we can agree 2 disagree Lol.  I really believe Central & Ozen can take claim to the District Title.  The reign is over for mid county. They had a nice run, but it's time to bring it back where we all know it belongs, Beaumont.  Jmo ;)
