After yesterday's Yankees-Red Sox game at Fenway Park, Joba Chamberlain and Clay Buchholz had dinner plans, Buchholz said before the game.

"Derrick Gordon (1-0) replaced De Los Santos and did a masterful job. Gordon allowed an RBI single to the first batter he faced--Abel Nieves--to make it 7-1 Rancho. The run was charged to De Los Santos, giving him seven earned runs on the night. Following the RBI single, Gordon struck out the side to end the inning, and went on to retire the next four batters in a row, striking out six of the first eight batters he faced. After allowing back-to-back walks, in the fifth, Gordon got Phillips to ground into an inning-ending double play.

Gordon earned the win after tossing three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out six."
