Gordon allowed an RBI single to the first batter he faced--Abel Nieves--to make it 7-1 Rancho. The run was charged to De Los Santos, giving him seven earned runs on the night. Following the RBI single, Gordon struck out the side to end the inning, and went on to retire the next four batters in a row, striking out six of the first eight batters he faced. After allowing back-to-back walks, in the fifth, Gordon got Phillips to ground into an inning-ending double play.
