Westbrook/Cleveland Indians  Jason Tyner

Trailing 5-2, the Indians scored nine runs on eight hits off Jason Hammels in the fourth. Jason Tyner started it with a two-run double. Jamey Carroll and Yamid Haad added two-run doubles

LCM/McNeese Shon Landry

Shon Landry, Nick Eubanks and Sam Merrill led a 16 hit Cowboy attack against Texas Southern. Landry had two hits including a two run homer, his third of the season, while Eubanks also had two hits and smacked a solo shot, his second.

"Nationals on the mound: Left-hander Mike O'Connor lasted 4 2/3 innings and gave up five runs -- four earned -- on seven hits. Right-hander Brian Sanches didn't give up a run in 1 1/3 innings."

Lumberton/Red Sox Clay Buchholz

"Clay Buchholz was the third Sox player to participate in Monday's Triple-A game. The right-handed starter had a productive day, firing four shutout innings and allowing two hits. Buchholz, who will next pitch in Tokyo in an exhibition game against the Hanshin Tigers on March 22, threw 53 pitches."

Westbrook/San Diego Padres Chip Ambres

"Chip Ambres hit a solo homer for San Diego, which also sent a split squad to play in the first major league baseball game in China on Saturday. The Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers ended that game in a 3-3 tie."

"Aggie starter Clayton Ehlert (2-1) would need the minimum run support from his offense, as the sophomore tossed six shutout innings to record his second win of the year. He allowed two hits and issued no walks while fanning three. After allowing a single to start off the game, Ehlert retired 18 of the final 20 batters he faced."

"Josh Hamilton hit a two-run homer and David Murphy, Gerald Laird and Ben Broussard also drove in two runs apiece for Texas. With the Rangers trailing 1-0 in the top of the third, Young hit a two-run double off Padres starter Jake Peavy before Hamilton followed with a two-run blast, giving Texas a 4-1 lead."

"They signed DeLome, 22, out of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, which is about 40 miles from his hometown of Buna. At Lamar, DeLome was the Southland Conference player and hitter of the year in 2006. Last year, he hit .329, with 60 runs, 57 RBI, 15 doubles, seven triples and 10 homers. He also led the team in times hit by a pitch, 13, and stole eight bases"

BC/McNeese  Derek Blacksher

"Blacksher comes to the T-Bones after spending his first professional season in the Florida Marlins system. In 20 games last season, he went 3-2 with a 1.75 ERA in 25 2/3 innings. He also notched 11 saves.

"Derek is a young arm that we hope to utilize either out of the bullpen or starting," said McCauley. "He had good numbers with the Marlins and was just released. We hope to get him back on track and hopefully back with an organization."

At the plate, Johnny Dishon hit his first career home run to right field. Schimpf followed with a single, and advanced to second on a Helenihi grounder.
