Silsbee Football numbers

Took in my first practice of the season this morning and immediately was amazed at the number of players in the program.

There are 124 players out for football this year (Varsity, JV, 9th).

44 on the field for varsity, 30 JV, 50 9th.

Looks like they may have enough for 2 freshman teams

9th and JV start at 5pm, varsity around 6:30pm.

AWESOME!! Should be deep at several positions. How did Spearman look out there. Hope he has a big season this year.

Spearman looks really good. Expect a big year from the senior RB.

Still cannot get over the size and ability of the soph. left tackle Hudson. WOW!!!

Was out there Saturday, didn't look like 50 9th graders out there. It did look like there was more on the freshman class than the sophomore and junior class combined. Them moving freshman players up to JV, is that you thinking out loud are did you hear something? That O-line did look HUGE!!!

I expect Spearman to have a huge year also. Long as him and my little brother stay healthy on offense this year they will be fine...

Glad to hear of so many kids across the area are doing something other than playing playstation. Unfortunately after the first six weeks those numbers dwindle. Some things change, while others stay the same. :(
