Last yrs games were among the best I've seen in 3 yrs.Me & my friends will be there again for even more games ;)

Having the six man game there will be interesting. Will they have to alter the field any at all?
yes they will, they will probably mark the field with cones, thats what they did at Shotwell Stadium. Goal posts will have to move-in also. It will be great though, thats a promise.  8)

Old school me misses the Astodome yrs of high school football but Reliant has much better seats closer to the action 8)
Reliant has the turf, cheaper food probably and now a bigger scoreboard.

No more natural grass? I think that was the reason previously.

I am aware this is a sweetheart deal for the UIL, but if they were really concerned about the students, schools, and school districts, they would rotate this game between Cowboys Stadium, Reliant Stadium, the Alamodome, and Royal-Memorial Stadium. Everyone having to drive to the DFW area every year is not fair. Spread the wealth to more areas, and occasionally play the games closer to others' areas.

I still think it's BS that they count the attendance for these games and try to break PN-G and Plano's single game attendance record.

They missed it by 1500+ fans last year, but there is no way you can compare that to the attendance of that 1 game in 1977.

I would like to know the population of Texas then and now.... if it does get broke, that stat would put it in perspective of how much general population growth had to be to get that record...

1. 49,953 Plano vs. Port Neches-Groves – Texas Stadium, Irving 1977
15. 38,570 Port Neches-Groves vs. Houston Kashmere – Astrodome, Houston 1977

You even have had Dallas Area football teams make it to the championship game and not break the record...

Perhaps PN-G/Plano will remain in the record books with an asterick stating * record single game attendance *

Just think if we make it back....with all the area schools supporting us. If any of the area schools make it...we will all follow them.

I would be there, always support our local teams...hoping the same would be returned if we make it.
I agree here on every point except using Royal-Memorial stadium in the rotation.  First, I don't see Austin needing another state championship site since they are automatic for nearly every other sport.(volleyball, basketball, track, tennis, golf, baseball, etc.) Share the wealth (revenue) and fun with other Texas cities.  The folks running Reliant seem to have just figured out that their use of natural turf highly restricts their ability to use their field during the NFL season.  Yes, I know they bought artificial turf last year for college and high school games, but now they need to really get out there and compete with a great bid for the UIL Championship games.  We as SETX fans need to encourage the folks running Reliant as well as the UIL to rotate the games between Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio.
