That's shocking; last I heard SC was already getting fitted for their rings! HA!
And Vidor was already preparing its team party for after the last game since they won't be heading to playoffs
I heard rumors today that Vidor has already started basketball practice.

The word is they are adding on to Cowboys stadium to help hold 1/3 of the Summer Creek fans that will be able to attend the game. They are also building a huge open field  next to AT&T field to hold the other 2/3 of their fans. They are expecting to reach record numbers for a game at the stadium. Besting the Cowboys game time numbers by thousands.

It's really sad, if you're at Turner, during a SC home game.  With so much success, you'd think that they would draw a good crowd.  Maybe the past season's success will create some excitement, and better turnouts.  We didn't go to PNG for last season's game, and it will be interesting to watch on Sept. 12th.
You just know that PNG will travel big...as will Dayton and BH.

It's to be expected of young schools though. Even Dawson, which has won the region twice in 5 years, doesn't draw the type of crowds a Nederland or PNG does. I was on the Dawson side at reliant stadium when they played Nederland and was delighted with how much space their was to stretch my legs out.

When I was a freshman at Atascocita, I would attend the games every week. Believe it or not, the attendance at AHS' games was even more pathetic then at SC's games in 2010. Tradition takes time to build.

There are 5 high schools and I believe 8 intermediate schools in Humble isd. Atascocita is fed by Atascocita Middle and Timberwood Middle, Humble is fed by Ross Sterling Middle and part of Humble Middle, Kingwood is fed by Riverwood Middle and Creekwood Middle, Kingwood Park is fed by Kingwood Middle, and Summer Creek is fed by Woodcreek Middle and part of Humble Middle.

I think that any student that would have been zoned to AHS or SC could attend KPark if they were in the IB program before SC and AHS had set up their own IB programs.

In Humble ISD, it is possible to for students to transfer anywhere in the district, if they provide their own transportation. However, transfers into Summercreek are pretty much frozen/not allowed, and have been for a few years.

Within the district,  it is. HISD sudents who do not live in the Summercreek service area/attendance zone have to get approval from the school board, in order to be able to go to SC. Very few approvals have been given in the last few years. Most (99%) of SC students moved into the SC service area/attendance zone in order to go to the school.

One student that I know of, got approval to go to SC, only after 8 months of petitioning. Most are turned down, to avoid draining students from the other schools. The student has to apply in January, and the board makes a decision in February..
