I think we need to give the starters some reps against someone besides our own team. A little conditioning work and timing. Then sit them. This on both sides of the ball.
kcat-fan Posted August 23, 2013 Report Posted August 23, 2013 I agree. Conditioning and timing reasons

Haven't played a game yet. Technicaly its a practice. So get some work done. JMO.
NewtonNation Posted August 24, 2013 Report Posted August 24, 2013 Controlled part of the scrimage was 3-2 in Newton's favor.2 live quarters was Newton 7 Buna 0.Buna moved the ball good on the ground, a lot of beef up front. Good physical play from both sides. Buna's passing game was a little off but the Cougars looked pretty good to me.
fball37 Posted August 24, 2013 Report Posted August 24, 2013 Both teams look good. Lots of penalties from buna other than that they moved the ball really good! Excited to see how the rest of the season goes for them! Goodluck to newton as well
ChampionEagles Posted August 24, 2013 Author Report Posted August 24, 2013 Buna people please don't be offended by my above post. It was not directed at the Buna team. Please accept my apologies. Truth is Buna played very well. Defensive scheme for the Cougars was dead on and the team attacked the ball well. Gang tackling and penetrating the line play of Newton was also other areas Buna had success in. Offensively Buna, as well as Newton, was inconsistent. Some big plays then stall. Both teams got a good workout and no major injuries I saw. Getting ready for next week is what it was about.
