AthleticSupporter - Jock Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 nederland central ozen lumberton png gc vidor lee this is how the district will end up pretty bold prediction picking Lumberton to finish ahead of png and vidor (sorry gcm and lee). What are you basing this prediction on? Quote

badndn Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 I didn't know Ned had a QB controversy. JV QB (Soph) looked pretty darn good last year. Who is going to beat him out? Hell, nobody even mentioned the Sophomore. Smith (Sr) and Seay (Sr) are the two names that have been thrown out. Quote
AthleticSupporter - Jock Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Hell, nobody even mentioned the Sophomore. Smith (Sr) and Seay (Sr) are the two names that have been thrown out. Thrown out by who? Their dads? Yeah, I read that thread a while back. Quote
NDNation Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 If Dads are involved, its a sure enough controversy. :D War of QB's Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
Knoddy1 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 04 Is right Big Ned's cupboard is not bare and a lot of underclassmen have gotten a lot of playing time both regular season and in the playoffs, Freshmen team and the JV teams were pretty good and should help fill the holes left from graduation. District championship will have to earned, I look for Larry Neumann to have the dogs in position to have something to say about it. bvc9 1 Quote
MAYFIELD Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Watch out for another dad jumping in, as I say my young son Tavian Mayfield, gaining more confidence for playing time at Qb and training hard. GO BULLDOGS! Quote
bvc9 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 One thing you can say for Nederland is that Neumann makes decisions period. He develops team players and they work for the team. That is how Larry got through lean years by building a team mind set, not individuals. This year's team was another fine example of that. Can't see parents dictating to coach who plays where, there are just too many other Billy's ready to step up. Regarding PNG, Walker has not done anything to lose the starting job. In the Nederland/PNG game, he was impressive. Sometimes, your opportunity might not come when you want, but if you work hard and sacrifice for the team, then you will be a true winner no matter what. 22 5A will be exciting, GCM in the mix could be interesting and if Ozen can get it together with the talent they have (and no Neumann is not available). biaplayer Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 I agree Target is on NEDs back for sure they earned it for the last two years. this year will be different. Looking for this to be one of the most competitive districts in a while. Yes Sage Seay is a freakin Beast. One thing about Neuman, when his offense starts to struggle he puts his goto beast at qb and runs the ball right at you. For some reason it seems to work. Last years mcm the offense wasnt getting it done, put the ball in the Beasts hands and bam the get six points. I will say this about Faircloth not bashing him, but he does leave alot of points on the field. It isnt always bad to settle for a FG. 3 pts is better than none, again in MCM last year in the final 5 mins png could have attempted two FGs to win the game, didnt happen, went for it on Fourth and two against that incredible defensive line and got stuffed. i will always question that call as a fan, when you only had 40 yards rushing all night, smh. His decision he is the coach not me , but makes you wonder. Never the less it was a good game. This years games should be awesome. just hope weather doesnt create any havoc. look for a three way train wreck with NED PNG and Central, never know though anything can happen lol. Friday night lights and Saturday Night lights cant get here soon enough. fox 1 Quote

biaplayer Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 or the lcm game for that matter. He is a highschool kid not a professional. it does happen Quote
biaplayer Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 it is a good thing to have two qbs, i always worry about the defense myself, the offense isnt the problem, the last few years it has been the defense that is always under the microscope. Quote
biaplayer Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 thought last year we made some decent improvements, got to crawl before you walk, i wish we could just flat out sprint :-) Quote
prepballfan Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Walker hasn't really did anything to lose the job, but Morse has done everything to earn the chance to start. Quote
SFA85 Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 You act like Nelson didnt make the playoffs and the current regime is. ;) BTW: Strong will be running the spread at UT, same O that brought Louisville wins and a BCS Bowl win over Florida. Majority single back with the QB under center. I've been watching Ozen since they opened up and the spread has been their down fall. And if I recall, Nelson missed the playoffs his first year. Anyway, Scooter, I know what I'm talking about #KatyEulessTrinityCibiloSteel I'm all about consistancy of system versus personell Quote
BlackShirts5 Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 GCM all the way lol. Ozen should run some I-formation with some option. Run the ball and play defense. Quote
haltom01 Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 the sophmores beat nederland vidor and ozen that is y they will be 4th Quote
AthleticSupporter - Jock Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 the sophmores beat nederland vidor and ozen that is y they will be 4th That sophomore group has had a lot of success and will continue to make solid contributions. The key to them becoming a playoff team "as juniors" will be the classes ahead of them and behind them Quote
NDNation Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 PN-G JV and Freshman Smoked Lumberton, yet we are 5th. LOL Quote
badndn Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 PN-G JV and Freshman Smoked Lumberton, yet we are 5th. LOL Check That...PNG Varsity, JV and Freshman Smoked Lumberton last year to the tune of something like 145-7. NDNation and PNG1977 2 Quote
PNGDAD Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 PNG freshman went undefeated last two years and JV only lost one game last year with a lot of sophomores on varsity. Future still burns bright at PNG. NDNation, PNG1977 and CAL2TEX 3 Quote

AthleticSupporter - Jock Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 PN-G JV and Freshman Smoked Lumberton, yet we are 5th. LOL PNG jv beat Lumberton jv but Lumberton had 8-9 sophs playing on varsity at that point. I think it would have been an interesting game this year had all sophs from both teams been on jv. Quote
PNG1977 Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 How many Sophs did PNG have on varsity? Morse, Crowder (sp?) and who else? Morse, Cropper, Rembert (moved up as freshman), Giblin and Meche were all on varsity at beginning of season...later on in the season, Anniboli and Valentine moved up from JV. Quote
NDNation Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 Doesn't matter which way you spin it, PN-G will be VERY competitive. Looking forward to seeing McZeal on Varsity. Quote
