AthleticSupporter - Jock Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 No one is ignoring it. You also can't ignore the fact that Walker was the leading passer in this district. So Morse could have been the leading passer in the district this past year. What's your point? Quote
NDNation Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 My point is, Walker won the job as starter at the beginning of last season, and did a fine job of leading the team. No, he wasn't perfect, neither was any other QB in the nation. Much like Nederland, the Indians played as a TEAM last year, and brought us back from a 2-8 season. I have faith that Coach Faircloth will utilize the talent we have coming up in the best possible way. Quote
cougar14 Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 So Morse could have been the leading passer in the district this past year. What's your point? To be fair though, he did most of his work when the game was out of hand. Even with how good you may think he played, PNG still had to use 2 trick plays to score and it was still 42-14 after the first play in the 4th quarter. Crosby backed off and was just trying not to get guys hurt because we had a game the next week, plus I'm sure Riordan didn't want to show too much. Morse isn't the most mobile kid and if he would have started the game and seen the same pressure Walker did he probably wouldn't have finished either. Quote
NDNation Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 + Morse being a sophomore, thrown into a game that was already out of hand. Quote
badndn Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 I saw enough to form this opinion. Didnt they play as Freshman? How'd that turn out? I know! So what changed so drastically in one year???? NOTHING Quote
bvc9 Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Hard to compare subvarsity teams as indicators. Talent is so spread out on subvarsity and some players don't find their position to holes are filled on varsity. There is a rise in talent in PNG, it will be interesting how everything comes together. Lumberton doesn't seem to have the coaching and has lack of confidence on the field. Ozen is one good coach away from winning big and Central should be at the top of the food chain with Foreman 2. Neumann IV(don't you think of Jerry Seinfield yelling "Neaumann" is what the other coaches have been doing the past several years after games). GCM is no slouch and Lee is unpredictable. Don't forget Vidor. Quote

Whatever the strategy Crosby played in "backing off and not showing too much" sure didn't help much in their arse whipping suffered at the hands of Elgin the very next week. Sad that all that talk about that deep playoff run only resulted in a skid mark run as dark as a chocolate hershey bar in their jockey shorts. Mr. Buddy Garrity and NDNation 2 Quote

Hard to keep the strategy together when the district MVP goes down though. You should know all about that. I don't know which mid-county team you cheer for but we didn't even need to wait until the 4th quarter,Crosby whipped both of their arses from whistle to whislte. I believe the Cougs scored 115 points in those two games which really weren't competitive. I got to see one "skid mark", how many did your team leave? Quote
cougar14 Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Dayum!!!!! that's funny  It is, it's almost as funny as signing 10 kids and not making the playoffs in a weak district. I think our district is something like 13-3 against y'all the last couple of years.LOL Quote
NDNation Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Think you got to see more than 1 "skid mark". Lets not forget the 60+ Summer Creek delivered. CAL2TEX 1 Quote
Bigcam2903 Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 I'm not big on stats because I don't believe they tell the whole story, but I have someone close to Indians athletics send me some stats. I don't know how accurate they are, but maybe some of the Indian Faithful can weigh in on this. Walker's stats against teams that made playoffs. Crosby,LCM,Central,SC,NED 47/101(46%) 620 yds 5 TD'S 10 INT'S. If this info is accurate; for the sake of Debate what does a Coach do?? I don't envy his position. Either way I Pray the Team rallies behind whomever & stay focused. Like i've always said, Most Fans are full of CRAP anyways. Quote

NDNation Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 You got a spy in our camp now Bigcam..lol On one hand I would like to see Morse take the helm. Hes good and will only get better, and we have him for 2 more years. Sucks that talent is on the bench. On the other hand, I like watching Walker and hes a good leader. He has proven his worth. I coach Summer ball & I have kids from a few different towns in SETX, so I have met quite of few people in LOW places :D NDNation 1 Quote
NDNation Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 That is until we start fighting during the season...lol. We'll have to meet up at one of the Hamburger Depot shows, If I can work up the nerve to go back. You know I talked a lot of smack about Crosby and should have kept it zipped. :D Bigcam2903 1 Quote
cougar14 Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Think you got to see more than 1 "skid mark". Lets not forget the 60+ Summer Creek delivered. We delivered 50 of our own in that one. We didn't really "skid" in that one as much as dropping a 4th down pass at the SC 10 that would have led to a tied game with less than 3 minutes left. Y'all left a "skid mark" against every team you played from our district. Quote
NDNation Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Well Thank Goodness its a new season..lol Quote

NOTHING PNG finally, after 10 years of youth and middle school football beatdowns at the hands of Lumberton, squeaked out a win as freshmen, Congratulations. All the credit goes to Morse and Leckich for that win. If those two teams played 10 times, Lumberton probably wins 8 or 9 times. Quote
HurricaneCal Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 So what happens with all of the youth league and middle school talent? Y'all need some coaching, kids to quit moving, or what? Quote
AthleticSupporter - Jock Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 So what happens with all of the youth league and middle school talent? Y'all need some coaching, kids to quit moving, or what? The group of kids that will be playing on Friday nights for the next few years are not worried about what might have happened in the past. They are extremely focused and committed and they only know how to win. They don't know any other way and nobody is going to change that. Quote
NDNation Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 A stronger Lumberton means a stronger district and that would benefit all of us. Lets hope that carries over to Varsity. AthleticSupporter - Jock 1 Quote
