PS3 Magee leaving Ozen/or is he not??

Hey, my kids transferred back to BISD and I have no problems that any other parent would not have.

I have friends that are teachers at BISD, several in fact. They have no complaints. But with the coaching turn around going on, I wouldn't move my school age kids to a new school and chance that I would have to move them again a year later.

Coach Magee was one of the most helpful coaches I dealt with all year. And in a text to me this morning he called all this rumors.

It's all in what you make of it.  Some people just like to find the negative in everything.

It depends on how you ask the question.  Here are two questions that 'might' get different responses from Magee:

 

1. Is it true that you are leaving Ozen?

2. Is it true that you will not be the Football Head Coach next season?

 

Just a thought.

MaGee could have stated that he will be leaving Ozen.

 

But when asked if he has resigned, he can say no, because even though he could be leaving, officially he hasn't signed anything.

I don't think it has anything to do with BISD, it just wasn't a fit with Magee. But just think how it looks from an outside perspective. BISD has been on the news a lot. If you were a Coach applying, and you have school age kids, you might pass up the chance to coach some great kids with talent.

every time there's a HC vacancy anywhere, there are dozens and dozens of applicants. a job opens up at a school where they didn't win a game the year before, and dozens apply. There will be plenty of applicants, and i highly doubt most people trying to get into the head coaching ranks, or BACK into the head coaching ranks would pass up a job at Ozen. The fact that there's quite a bit of talent coming back is an added bonus. i doubt the status of the BISD itself will play much of a role in a potential coach's decision, unless he has the type of resume where he can get a job anywhere.

Ahhh, i found the date I was looking for, its was Feb 20th of last yr when it was reported that Nelson was gone, its Feb 10th now, Feb is not a good month for Ozen lately.

 

yeah, but I don't think Magee was hired until May or June, I can't remember.  I do remember that the clock was ticking down fast for them to get a coach when he was finally hired.

Ozen needs to hire a coach with a great resume nomore area guys or guys with terrible coaching records. Although this will never happened because an unwritten rule at Ozen, I truly believe that Ozen should consider hiring a white coach that would bring discipline to the program.

Hey big cam I just watched your boy's highlight film....I likeeeeeeee  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D you can tell somebody been schooling him on how to tout that rock. He definitely need more carries, however I'm hearing that the staff plans on moving him to slot and let the freshman kid "Lil C" be the feature back.

Ozen had tons of discipline when Brooks was there... Point being, it don't matter what color the coach is.

They probably were the most disciplined teams Ozen has had but that isn't saying much. During brooks years Ozen was still undisciplined, but the talent over shadowed it. Ozen was EXTREMELY talented during brooks years.

Ozensfinest said a mouth full. Ozen lacks Discipline, even when coach Brooks was there. I hope Ozen get a coach that brings Discipline in and stands on it. The talent at Ozen is down when it comes to football. The freshman team was good but, one of the teams top player(Mitchell ) left the school. Heard that he did not get along with the coaching staff. Hope he come back, he will push Boyd for starting QB position.

Mitchell is a really good athlete especially since he's playing against younger kids. But, he no where near the passer that Boyd is.
