Peppermint Patty Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 What does Lamar have to offer program wise? Why would a big name coach go there? Not being an ass, just not familiar with the program. Quote
NorthoftheBorder Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 What does Lamar have to offer program wise? Why would a big name coach go there? Not being an ass, just not familiar with the program. Maybe you should have said you "were not trying to be" an ass. That said, Lamar is not going to attract a big name coach who is currently employed a big time school and having success. A "big name" would have to be someone who had achieved success in the past but had fallen on hard times and looking for a place to bounce back.. The best option would be for LU to hire an "up and comer" like they did when they hired Tubbs back in 1975. Some one who is looking for their first head coaching break and will wind up after 5 or so successful years at a big program!!! BLUEDOVE3 1 Quote

TxHoops Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 If they wanted to give a HS coach a chance, Todd Sutherland or Brian English should be the choice. Quote
badndn Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 HS coaches need time as assistant coaches. They need to learn the recruiting business first. And make no mistake...it is a business that requires 24/7 attention. TxHoops 1 Quote

BLUEDOVE3 Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 Lamar booster has already stepped up to pay what Lamar owes. I'd heard that rumor about week or so ago. Had to be true because I just couldn't see LU paying his salary after firing him Quote
