Eazy Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 18-4A opened District tonight. Some Finals: Magnolia 11 Bryan Rudder 1 Montgomery 12 Huntsville 1 Magnolia West 5 Brenham 3 Magnolia, Montgomery, and Magnolia West should be your top 3 teams in 18-4A this year. All 3 of these teams are loaded and look to be even better than last year's teams. Quote
Fracc Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Keep us posted on 18. Looks like it is the year of the "M" schools. Who is your take on 4? I see Magnolia beat Barbers Hill 5-3. The Hill is still a pretty talented squad. What will happen to 18-4A teams after redistricting next year. Quote
Eazy Posted February 20, 2014 Author Report Posted February 20, 2014 Brenham. They lost quite a few to graduation, but as always, they will be in the mix. Quote
Eazy Posted February 20, 2014 Author Report Posted February 20, 2014 Yes. Brenham's coach left for Dripping Springs so they have a new one. A lady that worked for the City of Brenham Parks/Rec. As far as the realignment, Montgomery moves up to 6A and will play with the Spring/Klein schools. The rest of the district is split in half, with Brenham, Waller and the Magnolia schools moving to 19-4A to play with the Tomball schools. That should be a very strong district. The remaining four members (which may be the bottom four this year), stay in 18-4A and are joined by the Bryan/College Station schools. I see LCM is headed to 4A. Ya'll must be foaming at the mouth for next year. Quote
Fracc Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 There are mixed feelings about staying 4A. Especially since the HJ team that beat LCM last weekend has only one senior and BC and OF will have senior heavy line.ups. I will be more of a spectator as my DD graduates this year. Glad we get to go out playing the old rivals. Quote
badndn Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Yes...LCM loses three or four big bats and an excellent pitcher to graduation this year. Don't think they have another pitcher ready to step in like Raven and Hope and that 4A district will be good next year between BC, HJ, OF and Silsbee. Quote
CRUSHCOACH Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 LCM does have a freshman that looks pretty good. So hopefully the pitching pipeline will continue ! :P Quote

Dr. Who Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Magnolia West 16 Caney Creek 0 Willis has Casey Dixon the pitcher who has a good riser and a good curve ball. All I can say is Willis brought their A game and Montgomery had an off night. Quote
