Dr. Who Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 dxesimn4 was the West game the only district game where you didn't hit any homers? Quote
dxesimn4 Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Dr. Who, no Homeruns for our Willis and Rudder games. Quote
Eazy Posted April 3, 2014 Author Report Posted April 3, 2014 Big game Friday night when Magnolia West and Magnolia tangle again. West has surprisingly won 3 straight in this series and could nearly nail down the #2 spot with another win. Willis has temporarily moved ahead of Waller for the #4 spot but still a long way to go in this race. We'll look at the race again after Friday night and see where it is with two weeks left to go. Current Standings: Montgomery 11-1 Magnolia West 10-2 Magnolia 9-2 Willis 7-5 Waller 6-5 Huntsville 4-7 Brenham 3-8 Caney Creek 1-11 Bryan Rudder 1-11 Quote
Dr. Who Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Sorry Easy its 5 straight against Magnolia. Quote
Eazy Posted April 3, 2014 Author Report Posted April 3, 2014 Wow. You guys really have had their number. I didn't realize ya'll swept them in 2012 also. Magnolia is a great team and I'm sure they want some payback. Quote
Dr. Who Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 My daughter hasn't ever lost to Magnolia. She's a junior.. West has won by two or more each game. Yes they want a payback but I feel that cost them each and every time. They press way to hard. West had never beaten Magnolia until this streak started. Quote
dxesimn4 Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 Montgomery 11 Brenham 0 1 Homerun Cheyenne Trader - Grand Slam in the first inning and put the first points on the board!! Taylor Skinner did a good job on the mound! Quote

Eazy Posted April 9, 2014 Author Report Posted April 9, 2014 Current Standings: Montgomery 13-1 (Rudder, @ Magnolia) Magnolia 11-2 (Brenham, @ Willis, Montgomery) Magnolia West 11-3 (@ Caney Creek, Waller) Waller 7-6 (@ Huntsville, Caney Creek, @ Mag West) Willis 7-6 (@Rudder, Magnolia, @ Huntsville) Huntsville 5-8 (Waller, @ Brenham, Willis) Brenham 4-9 Caney Creek 1-12 Bryan Rudder 1-13 If Magnolia takes care of business in their next 2 games, they will take their shot at Montgomery on the final day to try and grab a tie for 1st place. If they lose to Montgomery, then they may find themselves in a tie with Mag West for 2nd. Mag West still has to deal with Waller and that series has seen five straight one run games. We could also be looking at a tie for 4th place with Waller and Willis. That series is tied 1-1. Huntsville could not only play spoiler in that race, but they are also the wildcard if they can win out and finish 8-8. Could still see a 3 way tie for 4th. Might be a district playoff or two in the cards in this race. Quote

Eazy Posted April 16, 2014 Author Report Posted April 16, 2014 Standings heading into the final games on Thursday: Montgomery 14-1 Magnolia West 12-3 Magnolia 12-3 Willis 9-6 Waller 9-6 Huntsville 5-10 Brenham 5-10 Caney Creek 1-14 Bryan Rudder 1-15 With Magnolia losing tonight to Willis, that clinches the #1 seed for Montgomery. Georgetown could be the possible 1st round opponent for the Bears but we'll see on Thursday. 18-4A currently has a tie for both 2nd place and 4th place. We could possibly see tiebreaker games to settle these spots. The big games on Thursday night will be: Montgomery @ Magnolia Waller @ Magnolia West Willis @ Huntsville For the 4th spot, Willis should be favored over Huntsville but that's not a guaranteed W. Waller and Magnolia West always play tight games so that game could go either way. Not really much difference between who earns the #2 and #3 seeds between the Magnolia schools. Vidor or Barbers Hill will be waiting in the 2nd round so take you pick. Tough road either way. Quote
KPFAN68 Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 Eazy, didn't you mean that KPark and Barbers Hill will be waiting in the 2nd round? ;) Just having a little fun with ya! You are probably right, but lets wait for the games to be played. KPark is a scrappy bunch and just might surprise some folks. Quote
Eazy Posted April 18, 2014 Author Report Posted April 18, 2014 4th place battle. Waller / Magnolia West tied 1-1 in the 7th. Willis trails 3-1 to Huntsville in the 5th. Quote
Eazy Posted April 18, 2014 Author Report Posted April 18, 2014 Waller loses 2-1 in 8 innings. Willis loses 3-2 to Huntsville. Should be a playoff for 4th place. Quote
Eazy Posted April 18, 2014 Author Report Posted April 18, 2014 Montgomery defeats Magnolia 5-4 to knock the Bulldogs into the 3 spot. #1 seed Montgomery #2 seed Magnolia West #3 seed Magnolia #4 seed Willis or Waller (Should be a tiebreaker game) Quote

Eazy Posted April 25, 2014 Author Report Posted April 25, 2014 Good start for 18-4A. West scores 3 runs in the 7th to defeat East View. That series will be tight and could easily go 3 games. Quote
Eazy Posted April 26, 2014 Author Report Posted April 26, 2014 Expect to see 18-4A get their top 3 teams through to the 2nd round. BellBiz30 1 Quote
