The pair were introduced to board members at separate special meetings that were also social gatherings, after which trustees could meet with each one in closed sessions if they wanted. Martel was expected to choose the lone finalist and negotiate a salary package over the weekend before the Monday meeting. Lufkin Daily News Quote

Superintendent Gary Martel said the unanimous vote by trustees confirmed the hiring of Blake Morrison as the new Diboll Lumberjacks’ athletic director. Morrison has been the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Coldspring High School. Quote
texaggies07 Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 They scored a big win with this Coach. I have been at practices and watched him coach up close and he is phenomal. He is a great coach and should be able to turn Diboll around immediately. I hate that he is leaving, but he deserves it. I really hate that we gotta play against him every year in district. Quote
