It's that time to start registration for the upcoming 2014 Sr Babe Ruth season. All returning players need to register, new players to the league must furnish copy of birth certificate. You can download and print, pick up at any Nederland home game at concession stand or ask your high school coach who will guide you to us.

 

Great news this year. The regional tournament will be held in Nederland this year. Also, if we win the regional the World Series will be held on the west coast in the the great state of Washington. Babe Ruth will fly the team to Washington with all expenses paid plus housing.

 

Just a few notes how our league works:

 

* play all games at Nederland High School, 2 games per week per team M-Thurs.

* no practice

* 8 teams max 136 players

* cost $100, we furnish hat and jersey

Our season starts the Monday after Nederland's last high school game including playoffs.   We play Monday thru Thursday 5:30 & 7:45. Each team plays 2 games a week for 6 weeks.

Sr Babe Ruth has set registration for Sunday April 13th and April 27th between 4pm-7pm at the Nederland High School baseball field. All returning players must register. New players need to bring copy of birth certificate.  

 

Coaches, we expect a huge turnout again this year. We can only provide 136 spots, so encourage your guys that are playing to sign up early.

I'm going to get my forms for my 2 boys today. Do I pay today also? Have 1 returning player and one new player. Please tell me there are still spots! For some reason I was thinking tryouts were this Sunday!

 

For two boys you get a break, $150 for the whole season. You can pay at the concession stand at next Nederland game or wait till April 27th at the next signups. Still debating on the tryout dates. 

 

We had more sign up last weekend than usual, so get those forms in.

This Sunday April 27th 4-7pm Nederland High School baseball field will be our last registration for Sr Babe Ruth 16-18 yr old league. All returning players should receive a call or text to remind them to register. The cost is $100.

 

All new players will tryout Wed May 14th & Sun May 18th at 6:30 pm. You must attend at least one of those days unless you are still in the playoffs.

 

Registration forms can be downloaded here, at Nederland's concession stand or ask your high school coach. 

 

For those not familiar with our league, just some notes:

 

                        *    We have 8 teams 

 

                        *    You will play games at Nederland, 2 games per week Mon-Thur 

 

                        *    12 games

 

                        *    No practice, no radar guns, no game changers or scorebooks, no arguing with umpires,

                             just throw back summer league baseball.

 

                        *    When season ends, 18 players will be chosen to represent the league for tournament play.                              

                       

                        *    Regional tournament held in Nederland this year July 18-21

 

                        *    We win Regional, paid flight to Ephrata, WA for World Series Aug 7-14

        

                        *    Total cost for all Summer $100

One final date for registration will be Sunday May 4th between 4-7.

Tryouts this Wed and Sun at 6:30 for new players.

Draft will be held Sun or Mon night, probably start that Tuesday but not concrete. Players will be notified as soon as possible.


Bridge City playoff game will be at Nederland Wednesday.

Tryouts will now be Thursday and Sunday at 6:30

Don't forgot tonight is our 1st try out for new players in the league. Be there at 6pm Nederland High School baseball field. Our 2nd and last tryout will be Sunday at 6:30 pm. You must make at least one of those days

If you are still in the playoffs, you will not be allowed to participate but still need to show up.
