CRUSHCOACH Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Geez ! I thought this thread was about the Deweyville coach. Does anyone have any info on that subject? If you wanna talk about HD football start another thread. jv_coach and SteelerCzy 2 Quote
UGK Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Broussard was a good RB where did he play college football Pretty good chance he didn't play college football Quote
oldschool2 Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Pretty good chance he didn't play college football He was gonna play at UH...but the entire coaching staff was fired the day before national signing day. And he got offers to go to Alabama, Florida State, and Notre Dame. But the scholarships were already gone by the time he was notified. And the recruiter wanted him as a preferred walk on at Texas...but he held out because of all of those offers. Then it was too late. Salesman 1 Quote

If you wanna talk about HD football start another thread. Thank-you, I've been wanting to say that for days now. I've never had anything against HD, but geeeeeesh that's changing quickly. I'm all about school spirit, but HD thread hijacking should be a felony. icanseeformiles 1 Quote
icanseeformiles Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 Amen Chester86. Deweyville anyone? Quote
UGK Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 Amen Chester86. Deweyville anyone? They could hire Jimmy Johnson and it's still not gonna matter, they're going to be poo poo. That district is a nightmare. Coach Babin hit the high road just in time. Granted, the odds are stacked against him at Warren, but at least Warren will give him a chance to win, unlike Deweyville..four asst football coaches is not gonna work folks! Quote
NewtonNation Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 I hope the Pirates can get a coach hired that will keep the winning seasons going. I would love to see Newton County represented well in this new district. SteelerCzy 1 Quote
semperfi96 Posted April 26, 2014 Report Posted April 26, 2014 come on deweyville folks, any word on this job? and for the record, i play acoustic guitar, country mostly. and i am one hell of a tennis player. as for other stuff, daddy said i could've been qb for the dallas cowboys. although i really wanted to be drew pearson. i had my friends call me drew for a few months and even made a few really awesome one-hand catches in my front yard one day. and my grandma used to tell me i was gonna be president one day. that hasn't worked out yet, but i am considering an exploratory committee to feel out interest. DP70 Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 Decision has been made. All that has to happen is school board approval. Quote
semperfi96 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 and when will that approval happen? Quote
DP70 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 As far as I know, meeting has not been scheduled. Decision was made sometime yesterday. Quote
CodyLB34 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Who will be presented to the board? Quote
DP70 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Former assistant at Tatum Former Kountze HC Current East Chambers offensive line coach/run-game coordinator. Anyone guess who? :D :D Quote
oldschool2 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Former assistant at Tatum Former Kountze HC Current East Chambers offensive line coach/run-game coordinator. Anyone guess who? :D :D Really....? Gotta say.. I never would've thought. We'll. If that's true then good for him (if that's what he wants). And good for Deweyville. Quote
DP70 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Me either. From what I heard he wants it really bad. Can't wait to see what kind of coach he is. Quote
DHS Grandad Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 I know a certain two way all-district returning letterman who is very happy with the selection. DP70 1 Quote
puddleofmudd Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Just because someone wants to be head coach bad doesn't mean they should be. From what people are saying about Deweyville next year it doesn't matter if they hire Jon Gruden or Bozo the Clown. Whomever it is who gets hired I hope he takes care of the kids and puts them in the best situation to win. Quote
DP70 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 I never said that that was what won him the job lol since he was a head coach only one year I don't know much about him but I can't wait to see what happens. Quote
Amphibious Rodent Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Give him some time and let him work. Nobody should expect this guy to walk in and start winning. He's got a mountain to climb. Hope all the fans, parents, and leadership in the school support him and allow him to work. Hope he does well. pirate supporter 1 Quote
Guest ECBucFan Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 Former assistant at Tatum Former Kountze HC Current East Chambers offensive line coach/run-game coordinator. Anyone guess who? :D :D If this is true, DV is getting a good man. Genuinely cares about the kids...good influence...personable with parents...etc. Not sure how many wins this equals, though, after reading though all the posts here. I hope Pirate fans have realistic expectations. Good luck to DV, I hope y'all do well. Quote

I hope Pirate fans have realistic expectations. Good luck to DV, I hope y'all do well. I was depending on East Chambers folks to tell me how good he is. I don't let HC records convince me because Babin had a 2-8 record at Scarborough as a HC before he moved back to Lumberton. Pirates will have the same expectations that he will have. Babin gave us expectations so we had the same ones. I'm sure the same will be true with this coach. Hope we do well except week 1 right? ;) :D Quote
icanseeformiles Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 I heard Deweyville coaches use to have to clean stadium after home games, any truth to that? Quote
