Its a tug -of-war happening here. You have one side who wants to ignore race and "lets just pretend" it went away. While the other side is saying, " here is another example that racism is not dead." Its definitely a great post if you want to continue pretending racism is dead in this country.

 I think this is the right result, but i'm curious to see the outcome of what's sure to be a long, well-funded legal campaign from Sterling.  Silver will have certainly won the respect of the league's players with this move, and the owners will respect him in a different way, knowing he's no pushover.

 

One funny thing about all of this:  if Silver is able to force a sale of the Clippers, Sterling's "punishment" will be having to sell a team for close to a Billion dollars that he paid about 15 Million for.

This punishment today was more than just on Sterling, its more than that, this was an indirect warning to other owners that this type of b.s. wont be tolerated on his watch! Something that good ol boy David Stern couldn't (or wouldn't) do.
