Famous Jameis

Not understanding how that would work if he DID get injured. Since the policy seeks to indemnify Winston from loss of potential wages would the insurance company be basically paying themselves?

I've never really heard of deferred payments for insurance. Jameis better read the fine print if so. I know there are companies that specialize in really high interest loans to athletes so they can go blow all of their money before they get drafted.

Someone had to cut a check whether it be a booster, agent, or whoever. The NCAA might like to know where the money came from. Hopefully he didn't sign any autographs or he may have to miss 2 quarters of football.

Maybe it's a post-dated check.

Happens all the time. Most of the kids buying these policies can't afford (or their families can't) the premium. So one of two things happen: 1) the policy is paid by a lender with the policy as security or 2) as AAW says, payment is deferred. Yes, that would mean if an event occurred triggering payment, the insurance would take the premium out. But as we know, insurance companies aren't In the business to lose $. What happens far more often is the player pays the premium once he does not get hurt and signs a contract.

@FSU_Football: #Noles Fans: Do you have a question for our starting QB Jameis Winston? Tweet us using #AskJameis.

This is great reading if you know how to work the twitter. Some intern at FSU that thought this was a good idea is about to get fired. Some of the responses are golden.

NFL just ran an article saying that the schools cover them often.

@schadjoe: Florida State announces Jameis Winston will be suspended one half vs Clemson for inappropriate comments in public

Lmao!! ! What a joke

Sounds like Jimbo stole a page from Sumlin's book. He missed the part about doing it in a Rice game and not against your toughest conference opponent.

In other news, Marcus Mariotta officially thanks Winston from withdrawing from the Heisman race.
