It is almost comical. We have 73,000 "less" people working than a month ago, yet the unemployment rate falls almost half a percent. 

 

When hundreds of thousands of people simply give up looking, they call it a victory and jobs created.

92,594,000 Americans are not working!  But despite all of this, the unemployment rate has fell from 6.7 to 6.3%.

The US labor force shrank by more than 800,000 in April.  The labor force participation rate decreased to 62%.  That's the lowest it's been since 1978.  That means 62% of the people working age have a job.  The rest don't, 92.5 million Americans not working.  And obama claims that 280,000 jobs were created in April, and that the unemployment rate has fallen from 6.7 to 6.3%.  One million people dropped out of the labor force in April.  U-3, that's the reported unemployment number. And then there's the U-6, and the U-6 is never reported.  The U-6 is over 12%.  Why isn't the U-6 reported?  Because it includes those who have given up trying to find a job. The AP stated this, "US Economy Adds a Strong 288,000 Jobs in April."  But, the dullards at the AP also reported this, "The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits rose last week to the highest level since February," and that "the number of people applying for benefits has risen three straight weeks."  How can this be happening at the same time?  If the unemployment rate fell from 6.7% to 6.3%, why are there more people than ever on food stamps? And why are there more people than ever on unemployment benefits if the unemployment rate keeps coming down?  Maybe our friends on the left here can help us by explaining these apparent contradictions!

For the umpteenth time.  THis is the weakest recovery from a recession since World War II.  That's a fact and drinking more kool aid wont change it.  GDP has run at about half of what a normal recovery generates.  Sorry, but raising taxes when the economy is barely getting buy is NOT a  stimulative effort but rather a counterproductive one.

Not making a personal comparison, just making a point:   You think the opponents of hitler had anything nice to say about him?  The point is: The opponents aren't the problem, hitler was the problem.  History's a great teacher.  Again -- I'm not comparing the personal just the situation. 

I'll tell you what, this is your opportunity to think and shine.  obama is a deep rooted socialist.  We, on the other side, are constitutional capitalist.  You tell us:  what has he done that would make a constitutional capitalist proud!

And many think that the "degree" of socialism has gone too far.  Yes, the fire department, the armed forces, and a few other things are good things.  As I have stated 1000 times before, the Federal Government is the absolute WORST business manager in the world and it ought to leave that to the private sector.

Thats why  I use fed-ex and ups the govt. postal service is good if its not anything that has to be there by a deadline !
