Mike_Honcho Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 Coaches were informed this morning that today was Murr's last day as AD/Head Football coach. Quote
AHUDDLESTON Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 If this is true, it could be time for a hometown guy to come back and lead the Panthers. #2ballgirl 1 Quote

Guest ECBucFan Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 The 'Wac needs some continuity in their program. I hope our neighbors get the right guy, and he will stay. Quote
Mike_Honcho Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 Taylor or Spieghts but Sup is from the Waco area might bring in an outsider again. Quote
8888 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 A Sup. bringing in his/her man is what created the mess they have on hand now. The new Sup. needs to listen to the school board's recommendations this time and choose the best of those candidates. They are elected to represent the community, so they should make decisions based on the constituents ideals. Barnyard was a power hungry, egotistic, control freak. She stiffed this school district several times while she was in power. Glad she is gone and I think that her replacement will do a much better job. So far, he is right on the mark and I feel that this change is the first in a long line of very positive changes coming to AISD. Best of luck to Coach Murr and his family. Hopefully he will land in a great spot for him and his family. Seems like he was doing a good job, just made some bad hires and the buck stops at his door. Thats the way life is when you are the head honcho. Quote

8888 Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 School boards are not supposed to have anything to do with the hiring of anyone but the superintendent "recommendations" - pretty sure that is what i said. And when you are at the top, its always a good idea to listen to what people around you say....... Quote
One4All Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 School boards are not supposed to have anything to do with the hiring of anyone but the superintendent School board has to approve it.....so technically the do hire just about everyone Trocket 1 Quote

Guest ECBucFan Posted May 6, 2014 Report Posted May 6, 2014 Looks like a great hire, even has some coaching background. http://www.thevindicator.com/anahuac_progress/news/article_fbc827e4-ce31-11e2-a199-0019bb2963f4.html Quote
El Presidente Posted May 7, 2014 Report Posted May 7, 2014 Big time screw job by the new Supt. He is getting ready to bring his boy in from the hill country. Stay tuned to the same channel. Best of luck to Coach Murr and his family. The garbage dump of Anahuac does not deserve them if the board allows this to happen. 8888 1 Quote
8888 Posted May 7, 2014 Report Posted May 7, 2014 Not sure how to take that "garbage dump" comment. Would you clarify the intentions if your remark el presidente? El Presidente 1 Quote
HurricaneCal Posted May 7, 2014 Report Posted May 7, 2014 I know coach Murr from when he was at Crosby, real good man and coach. Whether at the field or seeing him in Walmart he always had time to talk. Quote

Genuinely nice guy, I wish him the best. Quote

UGK Posted May 8, 2014 Report Posted May 8, 2014 Watch for Keith Hendrix to land this gig . I'm hearing Mikhael Ricks Quote
Salesman Posted May 8, 2014 Report Posted May 8, 2014 There is not enough money in all of Anahuac to pay his salary. I'm hearing Mikhael Ricks Quote
Anafanatic Posted May 8, 2014 Report Posted May 8, 2014 Not surprised at all...can't be AD/HC in Anahuac and be seen numerous times locally in Crosby Cougar gear, just sayin... Gotta find someone who wants to stay and put down roots in the WAC, bring Taylor back...it's time Quote
AHUDDLESTON Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 Has anyone seen a timeline for this? I would like to see Jason get a shot in his home town. Quote
H-D BOBCAT 55 Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 Coach Stan Hodges would be a good fit! Quote
