PhatMack19
Since the SEC added two teams from the Big XII, I will now refer to them as the SEC (+2) Midway through the 7th round Texas has still not had a player drafted. PhatMack19
Not 1 Texas player was drafted this year. That is the 1st time since 1937 that they haven't had a player picked. Mr. Buddy Garrity

TxHoops
Not 1 Texas player was drafted this year. That is the 1st time since 1937 that they haven't had a player picked. Thank you for the info (no sarcasm). I was about to ask if anyone knew when the last time that had happened. I wouldn't have dreamt it would have been that long. This is quite an indictment of Mack and his coaches. Although they routinely got who they wanted (this class was the best in the state and, I think, #2 in the country), failure to develop has been a constant theme. The fact that the #1 kid in this class in the country, Jackson Jeffcoat, failed to get picked is perhaps the most telling. I realize he's been injured but c'mon! Thankfully, Charlie Strong's Louisville kids were the polar opposite in this draft.

Strong had 3 players drafted in the first round at UL. He has a solid eye for talent and develops his players. He will have Texas competing in a couple years. Peppermint Patty
yup! But im damn sure gun-ho burnt orange shaded glasses wearing UT fans will bring up past players drafted. ;) Now why would anyone do that? On a brighter note, in 2008 the University of Alabama did not have a single player drafted. The next year, they won a NC against UT. Food for thought. baddog
Mack won a NC and played in another. A one point last second loss to Tech kept him from going to another. How soon we forget. Time catches up with lots of coaches. It's why some leave on a winning note. I still see how Texas has to stand alone against an entire conference. The magnitude of it all. Texas has big shoulders. Funny how Igs never compare themselves to anyone else....even in their new conference.....sec +2. Good info GCM pats. Who woulda thunk it? OldTimer
Since the SEC added two teams from the Big XII, I will now refer to them as the SEC (+2) Call them what you wish the only reason that I list the Big 12 as Big 12(10) is that after 2 years they would consider a name change or add 2 new schools. Jackson Jeffcoat has a shoulder injury that limited his pre-draft workouts and caused enough concerns that teams shied away from drafting him. He signed a FA contract with the Seahawks.
