Critter Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Seemed like he was warming up in the late innings... I remember him from last year! Quote
LandonWright Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Very good game by both teams tonight. BC looked to have the bats rolling early but the Huffman pitcher settled down and pitched well. BC hit the ball hard a few times but right at someone. Should be a good game two Quote
Rake1 Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 So Shugart pitched on 3 days rest? 3 calendar days but technically it's 4 days if you count the hours between the appearances so it's not as bad as it looks. Rake1 Quote
deuces Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 i heard game 2 wasn't going to be at san jac but in new caney. can anybody confirm or deny this? Quote
Rake1 Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Great game tonite. Enjoyed watching both guys on the hill, both are very good. Both teams put good swings on the ball throughout their respective lineups. Shapes up to be a good series. Rake1 Quote
Ultimatefan Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Congratulation to the Cardinals. Great game! goldenlady 1 Quote

rvbulldogs Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Great baseball game tonight. Reminded me of how the Dogs played baseball back in the day. Good Luck tomorrow Cards! Quote
Steven Avery Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Could we see Shugart or has he not had enough rest ??? I was just thinking this, so complete game on sat and another complete game on wed? dang Quote
injun Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Good ball game.. Looked like BC might run away with it early ( even outs were hard hit balls) Huffman pitcher settled in and shutdown BC bats from 3rd inning on Shugart looked good trouble finding strike zone on a few batters , 7th was only inning Huffman didn't have a baserunner... BC had a single in the 4th and a couple of balls hit on the button in the 4th and 6th that were outs. BC had runners on in 4 of 6 innings along with multiple extra base hits. The Huffman pitcher was just as advertised, very good. He found another gear during the middle of the game which was impressive. As far as Shugart goes, he "found the strike zone" enough to get 10 K's on a very good hitting team while allowing only 3 legitimate hits. Rake1 Quote
LandonWright Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 Bridge City hit the ball better last night then I have seen in the 6 or so games I watched this year. When I say better I mean squared the ball up. Box score doesn't reflect the ball that were hit hard but right at someone. I saw the box score had no errors but the ball that fell between the CF, SS, and 2nd was not a hit and should have been an error. Quote

Just my opinion of what I saw...BC had one hit (a single) after the 2nd inning...The first 2 innings probably 8 or 9 balls "ripped"..... Shugart pitched a great game but he did have 5 walks, which is what I said "he had trouble finding strike zone on a couple of batters" Quote

Rake1 Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 Quoting it twice doesn't make it any better or make it mean any more. Just my opinion with a few stats to back it up. Actually sounds like you didn't like my opinion or is there an echo in here.... Rake1 Quote
