aTmfan06 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Texas is toast. They just don't compete at the plate. What a crappy weekend of baseball this has turned into. They aren't toast lol Quote
Peppermint Patty Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 They aren't toast lol They are short on arms and don't hit the ball, pretty close to toast. Quote
aTmfan06 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 They have never been a good hitting team.. Always been a small ball club so nothing new there Quote

Who steps up today? A&M took advantage of Texas defensive mistakes to score their runs. You would figure with both teams low on pitching, defense will be a huge key in this game. All things being equal-aTm is a better team offensively. Both teams should have their Friday starters available. Not sure how long they can go. aTm played one more game, but the CG by Stubblefield saved some arms. Not having Peters available is the big difference IMO. Looks like the ags will be in Baton Rouge or back in Houston. Quote
westend1 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Which team wants to go ge curb-stomped by LSU? Quote
Peppermint Patty Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Which team wants to go ge curb-stomped by LSU? LSU can't even curb stomp UH. Tigers are way over-rated. Not nearly the pitching they've had in the past. UH just might beat them again today. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Which team wants to go ge curb-stomped by LSU? A&M has already taken 2 of 3 from LSU this year. The Ags almost swept the Tigers if not for an unbelievable, play of the year type catch from the left fielder in the bottom of the 9th.http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com/2014/05/video-lsu-leftfielder-makes-ridiculous-play-to-rob-texas-am-baseball-from-game-winner.html/ Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Chad Hollingsworth is supposedly starting for Texas tonight. Bridge City fans should remember the Waco Robinson product well as he send them home multiple times over the last few years. He hasn't started a game this year, but in 37 innings out of the pen his era is 1.69. Mengden only threw 57 pitches on Friday, so he should be good to throw some. Hopefully he doesn't suck as bad on Monday's as he has on Friday's all year long. Quote
baddog Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Stubblefield pitched a great game. What a pressure situation for a freshman. Texas needs to swing some bats. Tired of them watching so many pitches. Texas pitching would be up in the count then throw three balls. Pitchers should not try to strike every batter out. Keep it low and let your defense get you some outs. Of course your 3rd baseman may miss a routine toss to 1st, but hey, you still have to trust them. I will be able to view the game tonight. I personally think the Ags take it. Texas is the better team and should prevail, but momentum is with the Ags. Should be a great game. Quote
westend1 Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 It will, like most games , come down to a couple of big plays. Timely hit here, error there. Should be fun to watch, and the interest confirms that the 2 schools should play more. In whatever sport. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
Peppermint Patty Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Aggies announce Jr RHP Corey Ray as tonight's starting pitcher. 6-0 in 16 appearances, 3 starts, 2.20 ERA, 28.2 innings pitched. Quote
baddog Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 Texas lucky to get out of that inning giving up only one run. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 @BrentZwerneman: Through 7 innings UT leads A&M 4-1. Right now shaping up as a Horns-UH super regional. TBD. Quote
baddog Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Where is Houston Street when you need him? Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 Texas to Super Regionals! Hook 'Em! It will be interesting to see where they have the Super. Them and Houston are both 2 seeds. Houston probably has the better RPI. It's up to the NCAA to decide. Quote
