Sports vs Fine Arts

Are sports more important than fine arts, or fine arts more important than sports? I was having an argument about this and am interested to hear everyone's opinion.

What exactly are you considering fine arts?

Choir, Band, Acting, etc.

Well, I don't really know where to start.  I guess the fine arts could lead to future opportunities and possible jobs after high school.  I don't know if they teach the same life lessons as sports but I can see a purpose for them.

They're both important, and many times they cater to students with different interests. It's not fair to provide extracurriculars for one group of students and not the other.

How about this, sports were way more important in my life in comparison to fine arts.
