BEDELMON'S PICK OF THE YEAR.....

Recommended Posts

Should I take Buddy "Fairy" Garrity's bet???

"Bedelmon: If HJ beats WOS I wont post on this board starting Memorial's playoff loss (if we have one) until the end of the school year, and if WOS beats HJ you cant post starting HJ's playoff loss until the end of the school year. Bet?

You in or you out?"

I see AAW's looking at this page now... What do you guy's do, call each other???? "Hey bedelmon posted something..... get on here and lets gang up on him and see if we can shut him up"... NOT!!!!!!!

Personally, I don't care for these type of bets. It's detrimental to the growth of the site. We want folks to post not create situations where they cannot post. (not talking about situations where rules are broken resulting in a ban).

Also don't like the fact that a moderator is encouraging this type of bet but ultimately it is a personal bet which both of you want to carry out, so be it.

You will not see me "carry out" the consequence of the bet. Lame bet IMO.

^^^^^this!!!!!

No matter how many people don't like him bedelman adds flavor to this site and no one can deny it. I think it's stupid to make a bet like that but that's just me.

Hmmm, well thats funny you never said that last year. Interesting how things change in a year. (Response to your last sentence)

Also if anyone really noticed (in which it probably went above heads as usual) a certain person didnt abide by the bet last season, even though a certain Admin asked me the specifics of last season's bet thru PM. Strange, really strange. ;)

Hmmmmmmmmm. He was a Freshman and you were a Senior??? You get NO points for that..... Was it your first or second senior year? Were you 20 at the time like some kids on the team you back now? Cmon dude...... If you had been the freshman and he had been the senior, then you should toot your horn, but the fact that it was the opposite and he went on to play college ball and become an AD to win a UIL championship well, Id say he was the better player.... Now what???? You gonna tell me you thumped Mean Joe Green on the ear when he was 5 and you were 15???? Whooooo!!! I wanna be you....

Wasn't looking for points with anything about Steve Shaver.  He was a great kid and made himself (along with some pretty good coaching) into a "Great" football player.  We all throw that "Great" superlative around too much but in Steve's case I deeply mean it.  Touche' on the age thing.  I'll tell you that i turned seventeen iin January of 1955 and graduated high school in May 1955.  I was sixteen when I played my senior year of high school football.  I was seventeen in my college freshman year.  I never said that I was better than anyone and expecially not Steve.  Why would I?  I went on a diffeerent career path than Steve because his football talent kept him in the game.  My talent, along with injuries, did not allow me to stay in the game and that was a great disappointment to me.  Here's one thing that I feel - if my knees would have been as strong a your over-worked mouth I might still be playing defensive back somewhere.

No ban bets please. Whichever of you two loses, the rest of us suffer. Try a humiliation bet instead. Like if WOS wins, bedelmon has to show up to the WOS-HJ basketball game in drag? If Mr BG loses, well, bedelmon can think of something equally as embarrassing for him to do I am sure.

a football game perhaps? More ppl.

bedelmon, you and I have hooked up before in a war of wits.  I opted out of that discussion because it became clear that you were ill equipped to engage in that discussion and there is no reason to continuosly embarrass someone.  You knew before this exchange that I knew your high school coach, Steve Shaver and what age I might be.  But, thanks for honoring your seniors as well as your superiors.  I admire your Dad - he raised you without killing you.  It's too bad that not enough of what he wanted to impart to you was able to stick.
