PhatMack19 Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 I'm not a huge fan of giving an admitted drug addict a big contract, especially one that has never had an at bat in the MLB. Now if he hits 50 bombs a year and doesn't get caught, then he can smoke all of the pot he wants..... Quote
Peppermint Patty Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 He can't be any worse that what they have at 1st base right now. Just hope he don't Cheech and Chong his way out of the league. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 He just went yard in his 1st MLB game. Multiple joints will be smoked tonight. Quote
eagleswoodville#1 Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 Think you're being a little harsh? Lol I mean I don't support what WAS his lifestyle at all. But he's made changes and will help this team tremendously. I understand your concern but lighten up a little huh? Lol Quote

Hopefully he has his life straightened out and can be successful for the Astros for many years to come. Quote
htownfan Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Only 5 years, 10 mil. is guaranteed, the club has options to turn it into 8 years, 35 mil. if they choose to do so... IMO it's not a bad deal at all Quote

Glad he wasn't greedy though. Quote
KABrother Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 Yeah, I saw Mulder and Bud Norris tweeting about how it was a bad deal for him. Glad he wasn't greedy though. Bud Norris just flat out doesn't like Houston's front office...he has taken several shots at them since even before he was traded...glad we got rid of him and got a LHP in Josh Hader as part of the return that could be twice the starter Norris is htownfan 1 Quote

I don't think they were really worried about Singleton. They were more upset at what his contract might do for other rookie contracts down the road. The market determines the player salaries. His contract helped owner's and GM's set "market" prices. htownfan 1 Quote
BlackShirts5 Posted June 6, 2014 Report Posted June 6, 2014 In my opinion it shows that the kid wants to be here and apart of turning some thing around along with turning himself around. htownfan 1 Quote
