bullets13 Posted June 8, 2014 Author Report Posted June 8, 2014 The USA looked really solid against Nigeria today, and I'm glad Jozy finally put a couple of goals in. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 This a pretty good schedule for all of the games. http://waitbutwhy.com/2014/06/actually-useful-world-cup-schedule.html Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Game 1's of interest(for me anyways) Spain v Netherlands Friday 2pm England v Italy Saturday 5pm Germany v Portugal Monday 11am USA v Ghana Monday 5pm bullets13 1 Quote
bullets13 Posted June 11, 2014 Author Report Posted June 11, 2014 Portugal and Ghana both looked fantastic in their final friendlies before the World Cup, albeit against pretty weak competition. It's gonna be tough for the US to make it out of the group stage. Quote
Gabe Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 I got Brazil winning in their home country. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Netherlands hammered Spain 5-1. Spain was one of the favorites heading into the World Cup. Quote
bullets13 Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 the rematch from last Cup's final was a surprise result, for sure. Quote
bullets13 Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 there's been poor officiating so far. Brazil got a PK on an obvious flop, and Croatia lost a goal on a weak foul given as well. then mexico had two goals disallowed for offsides, and both calls were terrible. then spain got a pretty soft PK today as well. Guest Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 I got Brazil winning in their home country. You and everyone else lol Quote
bullets13 Posted June 16, 2014 Author Report Posted June 16, 2014 I've been thoroughly enjoying all the scoring. Last cup there was something like 9 goals through the first 7 games. We're at 37 goals this year thru 11 matches. Mexico's 1-0 win over Cameroon is the only game that's had less than 3 goals, and there were 3 goals disallowed that game, two that should've been allowed and one that could've been. Hopefully all the scoring will keep the casual fan interested. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Germany is putting on a show against Portugal up 4-0. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Gooooaaaal! Dempsey 30 seconds into the game @2014WorIdCup: Dempsey scores in 30 seconds! USA up 1-0! | https://t.co/Z0jbSqnfbE Quote
PhatMack19 Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Jozy Altidore out with a hamstring. That's a big loss for USA Quote
Ty Cobb Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Seems like the entire match has been Ghanna attacking and the USA playing defense. Thank goodness for the early goal. Quote
bullets13 Posted June 17, 2014 Author Report Posted June 17, 2014 Honestly, the US looked bad today. I think when it's all said and done Bradley will go down as the best player in our history to this point, but today he was terrible. The last several games he's controlled the midfield, and Jozy has held the ball well at the front. Without, we played poorly. That being said, all that matters is that we took 3 points. Combine that with Portugal looking even worse, and possibly missing 3 starters for the next game, and we are actually in a great spot right now. If we can tie Portugal and lose by less than 4 to Germany, we should advance, and that's a lot better scenario than I imagined us having after our first round of group games. Quote
SKINS Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Brazil is not looking like a champ right now. Quote
SKINS Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 The US could really use sonivan right about now to help with Altidore being out. SKINS 1 Quote
