Coach Stowers Leaving??

Ask coach stowers how bisd is.

If I met him, I would. I think the exodus of coaches must say something about the district. But hey, with a superintendant that makes over a quarter of a million dollars a years, I am sure he can get it straightened out.

Stowers did an oustanding job with the Jags. Straighten out? I think Central's football program is probably way down in his priority list.

Stowers might have done the best job of coaching in the district. I was commenting/joking about BISD's inability to keep coaches and the superintendent's huge salary.

Anyone smart enough to earn $300,000+ a year as a superintendent must surely be able to figure out how to hang on to coaches.Ā  ;D

(DISCLAIMER: The preceding message is a sarcastic comment and not intended in any way to demean, castigate or otherwise chastise Coach Stowers and the excellent job that he has done)

All you outsiders talk down on BISD but Stowers has aspirations for bigger and better things.Ā  He was trying to leave last year plus every coach he brought here for the exception of 1 left Central so Stowers has so personal problems as well.Ā  BISD isn't as bad as some of you may think so all should hush and wait and see.....

I came up through BISD, and it use to be a good district. Slowly but surely and mainly after Thomas has taken over, the district is down in everything. School performance, athletics, and so on. They need to look else where for a new leader of the district. Good luck to all of the Beaumont school for the rest of the season.Ā  Hopefullt Stowers will stay because Central hasn't had much luck with anybody else.

When you came through, there wasn't 'no child left'.Ā  When you came through, there was no test that blamed the school vs. holding the kid accountable.Ā  When you came through, there was only 2 high schools which the Pear went to the West End for 3 years vs. the West coming over for 1(how fair is was that?)........

I talked to a guy who's friends with one of the school board members and he said and I quote: "Thomas is worth every penny compared on how BISD use to be i. e. volitile meetings every Thursday and being on the news...."Ā  Now they're are 3 whites and 4 blacks on the school board and everytime he got a raise, it was 6-1 or 7-0 so if they like it, you on the outside of BISD should love it.Ā  BTW, all high schools in BISD are AA if you put any stock in TEA scoring.Ā  On par with the majority of the area

The same thing keeps happening in bisd over and over and over with coaches especially.Ā  Everytime a good one comes along they see how messed up the district is, and then they leave.Ā  Big Ham was correct in a previous post when he said central football was not high on the superintendent's priority list.Ā  I would love to see that priority list.Ā  It's ashame that we have lost some great role model's in our school district because of ignorance in administration.Ā  Coaches such as ( Arther Louis, Thomas Brooks, and soon to be Donald Stowers).Ā  Until their is a change in the administration, then we will have to settle for less.

Will someone please defined 'messed up'.Ā  I hear even the new principal @Central(who BTW is Region 5 principal of the year) doesn't like Stowers.Ā  Another quote:Ā  "You could go 15-0 and I still wouldn't like you....."Ā  So again, how is this Thomas' fault?

A. Lou and Thomas had a Jones/Johnson falling out.Ā  Brooks couldn't handle the expectations of the Pear.Ā  Stowers wants more money and eventially get to a state power.Ā  Again, how is this Thomas' fault

Isn't Thomas the one that assigns the principals?

    • Bye Week beat Beaumont United by double digits so not all is bad šŸ˜
    • He made the comment as a business man he hated overtime. He never said or implied he wanted to do away with it. He has said overtime should not be taxed. That will benefit the refinery workers in our area big timeā€¦..as well as nurses. Not only would you not pay taxes and see the benefit immediately on your paycheck, my guess that at the end of the year, you would subtract all the overtime from your total wages, thus lowering your taxable imcome.
    • Well I thought it would be a better matchup for us more so than us versus yall and we got whooped šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø we'll see, long time before Ball High meets Lufkin though.Ā
    • Very critical win for Crosby last night. At no point has the current regime given me any reason to think Crosby should be able to pencil in wins but for the sake of discussion I will for FB Kempner who we play two weeks from now and also Porter who we play a couple of weeks after that. That means if Crosby can beat Kingwood Park next week weā€™ll most likely finish district play 5-2 and in at least 3rd place.Ā  Ā  That being, the team could be a lot better if we had a competent offensive coach. Crosbyā€™s offensive philosophy is to give it to Yarbrough and hope he breaks it which is why we lose to team with above average defensive talent. Crosbyā€™s TE Landen Hammer is 6ā€™2ā€ and about 210lbs with crazy ball skills, an absolute mismatch problem and got one target last night. Friendswood realized Crosby had some playmakers on the edges and lots of times gave the receivers a 10 yard cushion. The problem is that Willis doesnā€™t know that so not once did we just raise up, throw it out to the receiver and give them an opportunity to be an athlete and make a play. So now that weā€™ve averaged 8 completions per game through our first four contest because 50% of the time Willis chooses to swap out 50% of the offense we look like we ā€œdonā€™t have the receiving talent that we used to.ā€ Yarbrough probably had close to 300 rushing yards last night but I wouldnā€™t be surprised if he had 35 carries. I like our backup RB but there are several kids who could help Crosby more at that position and Willis chooses not to play them there and feed Yarbrough to the point he couldnā€™t even finish the game last night. He continues to display an inability to efficiently use his personnel which is why we get blow out by any team with at least equal talent. Maybe something changes but Willis being 6-19 his last two and a half years on the sideline and his inability to shake the Cedar Park model donā€™t give much hope, which is unfortunate for the kids.Ā
    • Big girl is trying to make Oprah sound like Bam Morris, who was busted with 220# of weed in the trunk of his car. When the cops opened the truck and found the weed, Bam said,ā€Thatā€™s not mineā€. Give me a break.
