Guest FPHS 78 Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 All you outsiders talk down on BISD but Stowers has aspirations for bigger and better things. He was trying to leave last year plus every coach he brought here for the exception of 1 left Central so Stowers has so personal problems as well. BISD isn't as bad as some of you may think so all should hush and wait and see.....the district is a joke...but stowers has done a good job. unless they are home grown, its hard to keep a coach. just a matter of time 'for stump heads north for the big bucks around dfw

sig220 Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 No low performing schools, all three high schools with the same ratings as MC schools, WB beating Lumberton on scores. Hmmm, lots of haters, few appreciators.
Guest WBFan09 Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Anyone smart enough to earn $300,000+ a year as a superintendent must surely be able to figure out how to hang on to coaches. ;D how are you supposed to keep a coach on a lower salary with poor facilities because your super intendent takes all the money and then doesnt pay his taxes
SFA85 Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 how are you supposed to keep a coach on a lower salary with poor facilities because your super intendent takes all the money and then doesnt pay his taxesAsk the school board president and the rest about those 6-1/7-0 votes on his raises.......
theZENmaster Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Does the fact that a school board votes on an issue make it correct?
TradinUp BH Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 When you came through, there wasn't 'no child left'. When you came through, there was no test that blamed the school vs. holding the kid accountable. When you came through, there was only 2 high schools which the Pear went to the West End for 3 years vs. the West coming over for 1(how fair is was that?)........I talked to a guy who's friends with one of the school board members and he said and I quote: "Thomas is worth every penny compared on how BISD use to be i. e. volitile meetings every Thursday and being on the news...." Now they're are 3 whites and 4 blacks on the school board and everytime he got a raise, it was 6-1 or 7-0 so if they like it, you on the outside of BISD should love it. BTW, all high schools in BISD are AA if you put any stock in TEA scoring. On par with the majority of the areaWRONG, I went to pear orchid from amelia to Price Elem for two years, little Brook for 1 year and back to the West End for 3 years. The funny thing is my neighbor went to Odom Middle school, and could've went to a neighborhood school Vincent middle school, but the ping pong ball said he had to be bused across town. Don't get me started on this stuff. Believe me I lived the BISD experience. I still think Thomas is over paid, and that's my opinion. low performing schools for MOST of the district, sorry but it's the truth. All high schools have an AA in Beaumont, look at all of the rest of the schools, not just high school. The last time I checked Thomas was the chief of all schools in Beaumont.
BadMedicine Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 What was the guys name who first coached Ozen?? He was a good coach and when he quit I remember him saying that BISD and him did not agree on how things were ran. Stowers is a good coach sad to see him having problemsArthur Louis was the first Ozen coach. He got them into the playoffs every year, but that wasn't good enough for BISD so they didn't renew his contract. He was an assistant principal at Silsbee for a couple of years. Now he is back coaching as an assistant at West Brook and his son is the starting QB. I wonder if Ozen would like him back?
big_james Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 It's just BISD is almost as messed up as PAISD

He coached James Brown, Chip Ambres. I thought he was good coach and he didn't put up with BS. He brought Ozen to the playoffs and what does he get, his walking papers? BISD and PAISD are running neck and neck for worst district in this area hands down
stevieray Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Yes SFA85 lets blame BUSH for BISD failures, I'm sure everything that is wrong in the USA is BUSH'S fault!
