tvc184 Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Broussards in Beaumont. Corner of 11th and Washington blvd. Links are to die for. The last time I ate links there they weren't very good. It was more like a sausage than a link. Edible but that is why I haven't been back. Maybe they have changed and I willl give them another try. The last time I passed that way it looked like they were closed. Quote
westend1 Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Gator Junction in Anahuac does have great chopped beef. Might be my favorite sandwich. PN-G bamatex 1 Quote

BLUEDOVE3 Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 LMBO. You don't even know how true that is. Im not allowed to touch the pit. My favorite is Tonys. They have a good sauce. I tried Tony's this past Saturday. I was impressed. Quote
tvc184 Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 I tried Tony's this past Saturday. I was impressed. I eat at Tony's about once a week on average (convenient at work) and about half the time I get chicken fried steak with baked potato and salad. It is one of the better ones in this area in my opinion. It is kind of a hidden gem as most people might not think of CFS there. Quote
NDNation Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 I usually get the Ribeye sandwich. Also like that corn mush (forgot the name). Quote
Baba Ganoush Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Creole burger at Eaton Meats on Nederland Ave. I need alone time when I eat one. its special! And if you like a challenge, get you a few beer bullets but keep some cold beverage close by. Quote

PN-G bamatex Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 Gator Junction in Anahuac does have great chopped beef. Might be my favorite sandwich. Bar H on the corner of 365 and IH-10 in Fannett is pretty good for gas station barbecue too. The Salt Lick is one of my all-time favorite places to eat. Quote
baddog Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 Salt Lick at Dripping Springs...almost passed it up because it didn't look like a restaurant to me. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience. They let me go back by the pit and shoot some pics. Supposed to be a Salt Lick in Houston. Quote
Bigdog Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 Midway BBQ in Katy is pretty good, and Rudy's either in Katy or New Braunfels not bad either. Quote
TxHoops Posted June 20, 2014 Author Report Posted June 20, 2014 I hear Killen's in Pearland is up there with the big boys. Quote
Javelina Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Cooper's was my favorite for years and years. Great place. I have yet to meet anyone that braved the early morning lines at Franklin though and didn't believe it was the best they've ever had. At least for brisket and ribs. Kreuz in Lockhart is still the best sausage I've had but I've heard Micklethwait Meats in Austin may take that crown. City Market in Luling has the best sausage by far(Newsweek's 101 Best Restaurants in the World 2012) !! I do not wake up early enough to eat at Franklins but Louie Meullers in Taylor has great BBQ as well as Cooper's in Llano. The new Coopers in New Braunfels is good but not as good as Llano. There is also a small BBQ joint at the corner of 183 and 1431 in Cedar Park called J&J BBQ and it is pretty good as well. Ribs are good, They serve a brisket omelet for breakfast that is awesome. outanup and TxHoops 2 Quote
baddog Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Broussards in Beaumont. Corner of 11th and Washington blvd. Links are to die for. My wife's best friend totally agrees with this. She drives all the way from Nederland for their links. Hard to say which BBQ is actually "the best". When I am hungry and the food is "good", it's hard to complain. Texture has a lot to do with it too......like the ribs at Texas Roadhouse. They literally fall off the bone. Quote

I gotta try that brisket omelet. You need to do Franklin's at least once. It is absolutely worth the wait. I had the sausage at City Market and remember it being excellent. Been a few years though. Have you tried Mickelwaith's? I have not but I heard they make a different kind each day fresh and they are all outstanding. Quote
Javelina Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 I have not tried it yet but it's on my BBQ bucket list. The smoked sirloin at Texas Land & Cattle in Austin will melt in your mouth Quote
CRUSHCOACH Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 Opies BBQ in Spicewood, just outside of Austin on Hwy 71 is awesome ! Best ribs around. Quote

Pirate88 Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 West Texas Style BBQ, between Silsbee and Evadale. Best BBQ in Southeast Texas. Ate there once and won't be back. Had the brisket and they pulled it from the fridge, sliced it and heated it up in a microwave. You need to try Pecan Lodge at Dallas farmers market. Excellent brisket and pulled pork. I think they are listed 2nd behind Franklin's as best in Texas. Quote
