Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted June 29, 2014 Report Posted June 29, 2014 @KTLA: Detroit cuts off water to thousands who have past-due bills. Nearly half the city owes money. http://ktlane.ws/1r0Hh6q http://twitter.com/KTLA/status/483274351329181696/photo/1 Quote
tvc184 Posted June 29, 2014 Report Posted June 29, 2014 Port Arthur went through that a few years ago. Interestingly, I think the then city manager was an assistant city manager in Detroit when PA hired him. He allowed people not to pay the bills and when he was finally pushed out the door, there was over a million dollars in unpaid water bills. The new city manager came in and started shutting off the taps and all of a sudden the bills started being paid. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

TxHoops Posted June 29, 2014 Report Posted June 29, 2014 I think I would rather spend a night in Afghanistan than Detroit. That city is a train wreck and is really sad. Who was the guy who spoke at the DNC (in '04 maybe?) who was the mayor of Detroit? Robbed that city blind. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
