British Open - 3 Ex Lamar Players

Dawe Van Der Walt, Chris Stroud, and Shawn Stefani all will play in the British Open next week.  Speaks very well of Lamar Golf

Shawn has been playing very well this year. I followed him for 2 days at Houston where he finished 5th.

 

Stroud has been solid this year as well. Glad to see them playing well on the tour

This speaks volumes for the LU golf program IMO. I don't think it has ever been as tough to get a tour card, much less have success on the tour. I believe we are now starting to see the "Tiger effect" in golf; that is to say, we are seeing a generation of young men who started playing in the mid to late 90s when Tiger made the sport "cool." (For the record, I loved the game long before him and always thought it was cool.). However, you are seeing a bigger, stronger, fitter, and more athletic caliber of player now than we had 20 years from now. Great to see these Cards out there representing Lamar!!
