Good move for both parties it seems


@FieldYates: Source: JJ Watt has restructured his contract. Turned $10M roster bonus into a signing bonus. Creates $8M in cap space for HOU for 2015.


That's interesting to me. I can see how a player can restructure their contract to take a lower salary to help their team, but I don't see how changing a bonus of one kind to a bonus of another kind can somehow let the team spend more money.

Lots of really smart people work for these teams and find ways to get through every loophole imaginable.

The best contract ever has to be Bobby Bonilla's last deal with the Mets. He hasn't swung a bat since 1999 and still gets a check every July 1st for $1.2 mil. His agent needs a raise.
