badndn
If WOS made the playoffs back in '99, we would have beaten Lamarque in the third round and eventually would face PNG in the regional quarterfinals! The Mustangs would win that game, too! Instead of those Indians playing Stephenville in the State Finals, it would have been us and we would eventually upset them! Hard to beat a great team twice in one season, but we'll never know.

WOS92
If it's down to WO-S/Newton, I'd just like to point out that the Mustangs are undefeated against the Eagles - who I do respect immensely. :D

Newton and WOS have remained powerhouses but Groveton, since there last title appearance in 1996, has a record of 95-85. WOS92

WO-S has always beaten those above them, regardless of classification! Name a school that schedules WO-S because they need an automatic win - at any level. Newton has YET to better the Stangs. Ever. mighymouse490
recruiting must of been down that year…….. they went 8-2 that year, but shanderrick charles and the lincoln bees sent the pony boys home beating the wo-s mustangs for the first time in school history and returning to the playoffs for the first time in 14 years. the last 2-3 minutes of that game was classic!! coach williams elected to punt on 4th and inches and low and behold the return guy for wo-s fumbled we (PAL) recovered and scored. ensuing kickoff, kid fumbles AGAIN we recover and go on to win. badndn
Lincoln represented well that season in the playoffs as well as recall. Went several rounds deep and lost to Killen Harker Heights if my memory is correct. Shanderrick Charles was fun to watch with the ball in his hands!
