I was coached by Jeff Bergeron  ,my junior year. That man hated me with a passion, he hated to loose. There was no answer for that in his eyes. I didn't have the pleasure of seeing him play, but worked with several people from Lincoln that played against him said he was a beast. Evidently he could run like the wind back in the day. But back to the topic I think besides the70's the 80's was the decade for this area, although I did enjoy our playoff run in 99-00 always wanted to see my team in the state championship and it didn't end the way I wanted to but it was still very memorable. Art Briles and his son were on the same page. His boy did some amazing things in that game.

I saw Jeff the Jet a cpl times & listened to broadcasts on KLVI.Dude was a handful to stop

Those girls on that Hardin team were all high draft pick (WNBA) players. I believe 3 of the starting 5 were sister/cousin combinations. The Reescano girls left one heck of a legacy at Hardin, for girls basketball. I had heard that Lola Reescano was hands down one of the greatest female athletes from the entire area back then. They say that they ran smooth through the playoffs without being in a close game in 3 consecutive years. I'm not sure that's ever happened anywhere, in the state ?


They set the tone for the program. Did the current Superintendent for Hardin coached that team?

how's the football program coming along? Back in 2002 Hardin had a pretty stout team. Should of beat Coldspring that year in the opening round of the playoffs.

Struggled for the past few years. Some people see them winning 6 games this season. Coach Fortune implemented an actual off season program when he came in the spring of 2012. Hopefully they will begin to see the results of their hard work.
