what they need to do especially the ones that stole money......find the money and take it back and if they can't find it then take their house, cars, boats, get away home to equal whatever money they stole.

they stole from the school and tax payers and now teachers have to pay for it by losing their job which then effects groceries being bought, bills being paid, mortgage payment, car payment.....list goes on.

like I ve said in other post on the political board....bring the hammer down hard and make it real for them.  we are too easy on criminals......that's one reason we have overcrowding

There is a possibility that these indictments could be of the organized crime kind. The Feds would get involved if this is the case.

Actually the state has organized crime laws also similar to the federal RICO laws. They are seldom used however.

Under TX Organized Crime Chapter 71, whatever the most serious crime that was committed by the conspiracy (even if they did not all know each other), the entire group can be prosecuted for the next highest crime of the most serious offense committed.  For example, 10 people conspire on various levels to commit theft, burglary or forgery (there are lots of other crimes listed) and the most serious crime committed by any one person is a 2nd Degree Felony Theft (more than $100,000), it then goes to or is enhanced to a 1st Degree Felony Theft or up to 99 years for everyone in the organized crime.  Even if one of the participants only stole $400 but it was part of the big scheme, he/she gets the same charge as the most serious crime committed. A $400 theft alone carries a maximum of 6 months in the county jail but if it is part of organized crime as my example, that same person would be facing up to 99 years instead of 6 months.

With this new DA, something like that is entirely possible.

Crenshaw, who asked the Jefferson County Commissioners Court this week for additional funds to hire a forensic accountant, said he believes fraud in the school district extends back at least to 2007 when BISD began its $388.6 million bond project.

From "Recognized" to "Indicted"

Seriously, I hope they can find out where every penny that was stolen, misappropriated or misspent, and hold every person accountable. That is what the kids, teachers and taxpayers of BISD deserve.

But  wait, it wasn't that long ago that one of our fellow posters stated that Mr. Thomas and Mr. Chargois were "untouchable"

you notice that none of them are chiming in now.
