westend1
Not sure when I can go. Work has been crazy. Might miss my first opener in 25 years
warparty
Tired of looking at game camera pictures. Ready to see it live. I will be there at first light but ready to go probably an hour later when I can't take the sweating any longer. Can't enjoy hunting that much when sweating severly. olddadt49
I just found out I may not get to go bow hunting. I got a call from a guy that may want me in North Dakota to start a job by the end of the month. I'm supposed to be retired!

warparty
One 6 pt walked by me Saturday morning. That is all I saw. Hunting in Warren.
5GallonBucket
Didn't see a thing in Warren.....but I got two big body bucks on camera a typical symmetrical 8 point and an non typical 10 pt. Didn't expect to see that much with the Humidity level being so high in the mornings and evenings as well with the dew point and temp degrees being to far apart. If this coming Saturday's predicted weather stays true....then it should be a good morning to hunt.
warparty
Saturday should definetly turn things around. Glad to hear from someone else in Warren that had the same luck as me. I do have a scrape on the ground though. It has not been worked in a while but is in a location where there is one every year. Some buck is starting to think about it. Always a good sign! 5GallonBucket
That's always a good sign. By this time last year I had a good group of does coming and going often thru a giving week but this year its been sporadic. But I think the issue right now is the ol coyote(more pics this year than past). So come OCT 1 thru the 15th (good moon light)I ll be night hunting till I get that sorry sucker or suckers.....not too worried about messing up deer travel cause as it is..... its sporadic. But come late November when my food plots are nice and thick....they will come back.
warparty
I have noticed more coyote sign as well. Also more dog pictures. Not sure if wild or pets. They don't look poor nor do they have collars. Either way they are under my feeder to much. 5 gallon , where are you at in Warren? I am down 1943West. 5GallonBucket
IM on the south county line West of 69.....just south of some land that's part of Big Thicket Preserve and east of Wildwood. We had problems with what I called wild dogs last year.....cause they had no collars and looked a lil thin. But no problems this year with them, but the coyotes are thicker this year. And for the past 3 weeks I had no pictures due to me not turning my camera on....I went and scouted yesterday and found more buck tracks along with some doe tracks so I know they re coming just don't know when. warparty
I live in Wildwood and the deer herd there is outstanding. Seen some good bucks in there this year. Hopefully they travel your way. I am one of the many that keep them fattened up for you year round.
5GallonBucket
Yep.....I had 11 different bucks on camera last year.....2 10 points, 4 8 points, several 6 pts and 4pts. Yeah they were definitely some big body bucks....thanks for feeding them for me.
olddadt49
I have only had one sorry little doe on the camera. The only other things are a dog and a couple coyotes. I am on 1013 in between Spurger and Hillister.
warparty
Olddad the dogs and coyotes seem to be a common problem. Might have to make some homemade meatballs up!
bullets13
My dad and I got off of our lease, which sucks, but we were having some issues with the owner. We should get on a new lease next year, but I'll have some hunting opportunities (we got drawn for two draw hunts through TPWD) and with a buddy and in-law, but it sucks being at their mercy to hunt at their convenience. I was hoping I'd have some deer on my new property in Fannett, but where I am is slim pickings, while I've seen big bucks a few miles down the road. if you guys get anything noteworthy, be sure to post some pics. liltex
Just curios cause I see this foursome nearly everyday@my place in Moss Hill=A big doe,I mean big w/triplet fawns all same size.Never seen that before, just twins.Could it be another doe that traveled w/her got killed(on highway)& she adopted it as her own. There was a 4' puddle of water bout 3" deep & the fawns took turns playin in the water & would strike the water w/front hooves then jump around in circles=what a site to see w/no camera.Games lasted a good 10 min while mother watched @ the edge of my timberline/brush.Have almost 17 ac.Neighbors logger their timber on both sides & 260 ac old deer lease across 105 from my place. Can you say all the cat squirrels packed up & came to me.Co rd behind my place connects w a very tiny shallow creek that runs straight into a giant tract belonging to Arizona Creek HC,and they logged the part close to me.Also a sm pond is within 40 yds of my deer hunting condo built to put grandkids to sleep w/hunting w/shotgun only.Tried the bow hunting, never again.A lung shot lost me the biggest buck I ever witnessed.8 of us found a cpl places he stopped/laid dwn in a thicket. We looked hrs, then next day, then next day=no deer.1st ever i lost one.I could have killed him from up 12' in tree, out 25 yds w/any shotgun.Benelli nova 12 ga 3 1/2 mag pump put lots of meat on my table in season. We have a real smokehouse we eat fine
tvc184
For my 2¢, it is a doe with triplets if it is healthy herd. I think that a doe might "adopt" an orphaned fawn but it might be more likely that an orphan might hang out with other deer in the herd just like I have seen does hang out together. I get lucky to hunt on a ranch in south Texas (that alone is no big deal) but the manager's son has a doctorate in wildlife management and a specialty in whitetails. Every year I see him and/or his father (I will be there again in about 5 weeks) and I ask them a ton of questions about whitetails. In a good herd (1/1 or 2/1 buck/ doe ratio) triplets are not that rare. Yeah, that is about worth 2¢.... maybe.
