NDOMAKONG Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 A horse collar IS illegal, but again, you didn't see one... know the rules... It's only a horse collar if they are pulled down by it. On the sack he didn't pull him down by the horse collar. He grabbed it but did not pull him down. That's NOT illegal. True, most fans Dont know this fact. Just because the back of the jersey is grabbed and even pulled, it doesn't make it a horse collar tackle. Quote
NDNation Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I didn't have a program. Who is #5 on PNG? He Flat Out Ran WOS. Quote
BigD 95 Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 It's crazy. First half I saw all of WOS fans on social media talking about how horrible the refs were when they were losing, then once PNG loss they went to the same trump card. Crazy how the two go hand and hand. Don't discredit the efforts of the kids, the adjustments the coaches made, etc.. It was a good game. WOS won on the scoreboard but I think it's a Win for both teams, because of the things they learn from a game like this. I think if both teams go on to do BIG things this year, they will give credit to this game as a turning point and a game where some young kids grew up, stepped up, man'd up. I think once PNG get their running game established, they will battle Central for the district title. WOS are playing good ball and should win district as usual but at the rate we are going, who knows who will step up and QB next week. KJ may be next man up, hell, I recall DT being a pretty decent left handed QB years ago.. lol.. Never doubt any of these kids. They have overachieved their whole lives, adversity is a walk in the park. Salute to Will for stepping up. VNUPE 1 Quote

Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 So Dallas hurt his thigh that bad?? Or is it more to it than that? Quote
NDNation Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 What happened with the 2 WOS players that collided Helmet to Helmet? You could hear it in the stands. Kids were tough to get up from that. Quote
Gasilla Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 So Dallas hurt his thigh that bad?? Or is it more to it than that? Thigh bruise. Nothing more than that, but they hurt and I'm sure they didn't want to chance it in a non-district game. Quote
prepballfan Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 There were alot of concerned Indians fans over that one. Praying that they are ok! Quote
AshlyHasBeen Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I can't comment on the 2nd half because I had to leave. One puzzling call to me was on the Dallas injury. Hughes jumps, deflects the ball and falls into the QB's upper leg on 3rd down. Roughing the passer was called to extend the drive. Johnson led WOS to a TD. In my opinion Johnson is the better QB btw. prepballfan Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Oh well its done and in the books.Much respect for WOS and PNG played a heck of a game. We didnt schedule WOS to have an easy win. This was a great game to get us ready for district. Quote
NDNation Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 No 22 5A team is going into district undefeated. Huge learning experience at WOS. Quote
BigD 95 Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I agree. That district will be interesting. Quote
kicker Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 We know PNG is good, we know Central will be good. Now, what about nederland? Has their first 2 games shown what they will be or are they just playing really good teams? Im still not sure on LCM yet. The rest is a toss up. Quote
Indianforever Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 To sum it all up in my opinion it's not a win for PNG on the record books but it's a win for both teams for the experience they got it this game and they will both benefit from it....great win for WOS stangx2 and AthleticSupporter - Jock 2 Quote
shovel Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 This was one helluva game! PNG will not see a defense like this in district play and WOS won't see a team of this caliber in district play either. Great game from both teams. Games like this is why I love Friday night football. As far as the refs go... don't quit your day job! Good luck to the Mustangs. I will catch more WOS football this year. Good luck to my Indians too! Quote

In a game like this, everyone wins. Wos needs to figure out how to be a little better in the first part of ballgames. Making adjustments at half is key but weve lost some huge games in the past by letting a team get up too much before halftime. (i.e. Wemberley(05), Carthage(13)). PNG needs to figure out what happened to the pass game after the half. Now I know they put DT on your best reciever but I would be willing to bet not many teams have a player of his caliber. Probably easy answer is O-line. But once again, Wos d-line isnt exactly normal either. My main point is games like this is what 2 really good teams need. You cant replicate that type of play at practice. It sure doesnt help playing cup cake teams in pre season like some teams I know just to get wins. IMO. PNG could very well take 22-5A this year. Verdict is still out on the Jags. Quote
NDNation Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I noticed we didn't use Mczeal much. Quote
kicker Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I noticed we didn't use Mczeal much. What are you going to do with your trophy case? How about we give you a horse shoe for good luck the rest of the way? ;) Quote
NDNation Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 THANKS! I will put it in the case and Treasure it..lol Quote
Gasilla Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Was wondering about the big kid #11. After we put DT on 13, the little guy was having to cover him and they didn't try to exploit that. Quote
NDNation Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 In my strategic opinion. .lol...we are showing Giblin to soon. Double covered the rest of the season. Quote

NDNation Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 I know! WOW! Are we that good on blocking field goals or was it WOS needing work in that area? Quote
PNG Proud Posted September 6, 2014 Report Posted September 6, 2014 Hey Gasilla, If it's the play that I'm thinking of, on the WOS side of the field, away from the scoreboard... it was not a PNG player that pushed WOS 2 yds out of bounds. It was actually a WOS player that pushed his own team mate down on the track. I think he was running up to congratulate him on a good run, and bumped him. Quote
