Indianforever
I know rankings don't mean nothing this year but a loss to a top 5 4A team in overtime will that bump PNG out of the top 20?

skipper
what has happned to the power running back we saw agnest lc-m last week was he hurt he is a outstanding run blocker and very hard to bring down he ave over 7 yards per carry last week.the dallas kid is still the mustangs #1 OB it was sad to see him get hurt so early in the game he will be back soon i feel sure. the johnson kid was pressed into service and did one heck of a job ,on the sweeps he was one step away from braking long runs. but needs work on his passing game on the long pass he put it into triple coverage most of the night lots to learn .with johnson at QB it took away our passing game he is just one heck of a wr . kicker
After last night WOS is my pick for state....good luck mustangs! They have alot to do before that state talk starts. Should walk through district but there are some good teams out there in the playoffs. my main concern is our QB problems. Hope Jack is ok. I will however say if we can get that position down, we will be deadly.

Yep. Have seen people on here saying Will should be our QB. Wos would not be that good on Offense if that happens. Dallas QB + Will WR=really good offense. Will is way more valuable at WR then QB. chukslegacy

WO-S 89
is this the first OT games the mustangs have played. Several years ago Bridge City took them to overtime. WO-S won.
Gasilla
Hey Gasilla, If it's the play that I'm thinking of, on the WOS side of the field, away from the scoreboard... it was not a PNG player that pushed WOS 2 yds out of bounds. It was actually a WOS player that pushed his own team mate down on the track. I think he was running up to congratulate him on a good run, and bumped him. No it was definitely a PNG kid. FrodoNDN
No matter if it was the refs in the second half are not, we had too many penalties. Penalties that either stopped us driving or pinned us deep in our own territory. It is a lot harder to move down the field when it is 2 and 25. Also, the WOS defensive line did a great job keeping Morse on his toes. The adjustments made by WOS to hinder Giblin was smart. We have other weapons, ie Mczeal, but did not utilize them. And really couldn't because of the penalties. As for the "4th" string quarterback, well I think he proved himself to be a starter. His running ability was awesome. Also, a "4th" string QB for WOS would be a starter on any other team. WOS has always had the most speed of any team we play year after year. PoTeet (Spelling?) is a jewel. That kid is awesome. He will do very well this season. We couldn't stop him.

stangx2
I know another team that will have something to say about that district title... All I can say is that they better bring it because PNG is really good. NDNation

stangx2
Just for the record, last year at PNG, WOS had 14 penalties according to maxpreps, again according to maxpreps the Indians had 15 last night. Yes, it was terrible, but what goes around comes around. Just to let you know last year PNG had 10 at their place, WOS had 8 last night. Good luck Indians, hope to catch one of your playoff games. badndn
Was wondering about the big kid #11. After we put DT on 13, the little guy was having to cover him and they didn't try to exploit that. Yea. I was wndering the same thing. Only thing I could figure is hes young only A soph. He is still learning to use that big body. All hes gotta do is watch 13 who in my oppinion uses his big frame to make himself open even when he is covered. badndn
They said #32 Blake Lane was the illegal man downfield and he is an H-back. If he was lined up at TE on the line which he does from time to time and another WR on his outside was on the line then he would be illegal if he went out for a pass. marshman
I always loved hearing Cherokee being played and watching the Indian Spirit do his thing! And the bands marching "I" at halftime. Without a doubt its one of the best traditions of Texas high school football.
