Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 while Texas got blown out Saturday. UCLA hasn't been looking great either.Ucla by 30+ 51-17 Ucla offense is better than BYU, and if they protect the QB its gonna get ugly fast. UT has no offense right now. Quote

jenks Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 My Horns got greedy and A&M got smart. Why didn't the Horns leave for the SEC when they had the chance? Greed, they got offered the failed Longhorn Network which I don't get. I can see plenty of SEC games every week. Quote
Eazy Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 UCLA has certainly played below the insane preseason expectations of them. They have squeaked by a couple of teams that they should have beaten by 30. Those close games are probably good for them down the road. UCLA should put up some points and I don't see anyway Texas can match them. Hard to pick a score, but UCLA should win by at least 10. Quote
TXHORN_ET Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 How many thought Oklahoma would slaughter the horns last year after Texas dismal showings? I for one did. That being said, who knows what Longhorn team will show up. Someone check with Coach Strong during pregame and let us know. Roper84 and Mr. Buddy Garrity 2 Quote
whatnamecanipick Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 I never predict scores but UCLA will give Coach Strong a 1-2 start. It is all uphill from here. Either push the buggy uphill or get off. NO FREE RIDES #SPCFBG Quote

I agree Eazy, and I too, thought the preseason hype of UCLA was overrated. Then again, I think all the hype about the PAC-12 is overrated except for maybe Oregon. At least the Big-10 garbage spewing has halted! I'll take UCLA by a couple of scores too. Quote

baddog Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Texas' defense creates some turnovers and wins by a FG. Always positive but not ridiculous. Quote

Can't blame anyone who thinks like that. Quote

TxHoops Posted September 11, 2014 Report Posted September 11, 2014 @kbohls: Texas will make $4.5 million off its UCLA game at Jerry World. And make more money than any other program in the country this year, maybe with a losing record. Same thing with the Cowboys in the NFL. Somehow being the richest doesn't make the losses easier for me to take... Quote

PhatMack19 Posted September 11, 2014 Report Posted September 11, 2014 @kbohls: Texas will make $4.5 million off its UCLA game at Jerry World. I would think they would may way more at home games. 100,000 fans X $50 minimum ticket price = $5 mil + concessions and everything else. I'm not a big fan of the neutral site games. Maybe the 10 yr deal A&M is stuck with against Arkansas has something to do with that. Quote

I think all the season tickets, regardless of location, are the same. I believe you can get cheaper tickets buying them individually if they are available. This year, they are. Quote

Last year they averaged around $2 mil per game. I assume expenses are less not being on campus. I imagine they are happy with the pay day, even though they don't have a conference network. Quote
