You can't avoid the fact that these are kids. No matter what you tell them, sometimes they are just going to think there is no way they can lose to a team like rice - and show up flat.

Lucky for the Ags, the kids are pretty much right. Their third stringers could beat rice.

I thought the plan was to go with field turf this year and next or was that just rumor?


They were supposed to use turf this year but changed their minds. The grass was installed 35 days ago and hasn't taken yet. The Lamar game was ok, but Friday it rained 5"+ in College Station. That field was unplayable and not safe. It looked like some A&M players weren't going full speed and I can't blame them.

A&M won't play at home again for 4 weeks, so that should give the grass plenty of time. Hopefully the injuries last night weren't too serious.
