king Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 I copied this from a discussion page. Like to know your opinion BYU has won a national championship and has a Heisman trophy winner. Since becoming independent three years ago, BYU has beaten six teams currently in power leagues, including destroying Texas the past two years. In the last 10 years, that number climbs to 19, including Oklahoma. In the last 25 years, they've beaten 44 power-conference teams, including Notre Dame, twice. Not only that, they have more all-time wins than 11 AQ teams, including Florida State, Louisville and Kansas State. But even though they're no longer in the Mountain West, they're still considered an FBS mid-major? This is absurd. That's probably going to keep them out of the playoff if they were to go 12-0. What is your opinion? If they finish 12-0 should they be able to play in the playoffs? Quote

PhatMack19 Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 They don't play nearly the schedule that Notre Dame does every year. They should go unbeaten this year and shouldn't make the playoffs since they will have zero quality wins. Quote
whatnamecanipick Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 The top four teams in playoff per the selection committee. Isn't this so much better than the BCS? Quote
PhatMack19 Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 BYU will not play a Top 25 team this year. They shouldn't get in. Quote
TxHoops Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 Byu has no chance to make the playoffs. The cupcake they beat on Saturday is actually one of their tougher games. I saw their schedule and I think their toughest two remaining games are Nevada and Cal. Could be wrong but NONE of the teams jumped out at me. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 Taysom Hill could get an invite to NY as a Heisman finalist. He's a heck of a player. Quote
TxHoops Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 I actually think he will. He won't win but I believe he will be in the building. Quote
whatnamecanipick Posted September 11, 2014 Report Posted September 11, 2014 The announcers were sure high on him Saturday. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 How is this just an 11 point game at end of 3rd? Hmmmmmm....... Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 1 possession game with 7:13 left UH 25 BYU 33 Quote
TxHoops Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 UH > Stronghorns So UT was better than A&M in 2012? You know, the greatest season in the modern era of A&M football. Because we hung 66 on ole miss (won by 35) and you guys squeaked by them by a field goal. Is that how connect the dots works? Quote
TxHoops Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 And IN before the OU scores from that year. (Which ironically would prove the point I was making in the post above.) Quote

TXHORN_ET Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 UH stepped it up a bit last night, but it appeared to me BYU played down. Most, if not all, teams play their best against Texas. Just goes to show the Horns get up for..well I don't know..I just don't know. Maybe this weekend against the Bruins. Quote
whatnamecanipick Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 I actually watched the game. UH looked better I am surprised you found the time with all your research. Too bad that UH and UT don't play. Quote
Eagle11 Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 I think UH would be favored in Austin Granted, PhatMack is way more worried and following UT than I am but UH would probably beat my Horns right now. Quote
