Michele Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Dogs have had some really tough breaks for our pre-season. Neumann gets the DOGS fired up and ready to go! Dogs will come home with a win to start District play. GO BULLDOGS! whatnamecanipick 1 Quote
CS. Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 That is a game Nederland can, and probably will win. I'd say Nederland 23 - Vidor 14 Quote
snafu Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Pirates are young, they have faced some tough opponents in the pre-district ... if we can get our turn overs and penalties in control... them Dogs may be biting off more than they can chew.... and a plus for us ... its a Home game.... El Guapo Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 This all depends on who Vidor plays at QB. It could go either way Quote

robanadana Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 I can see this thread is gonna get real fun by game time. First and foremost, in the history of Vidor vs. Nederland football, have the referees EVER been for Vidor...total penalties in the series would be a wonderful statistic to have. Second, I DO NOT run the clock @ the Pirate home games (unless asked) and have never done it during a nederville game (but I sure would like to this time). Nederville might as well show up in the new black and white striped jerseys because I'm sure we'll be playing against a couple of those as well. whatnamecanipick 1 Quote
NDNation Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 And the rivalry continues..... Pirates licking their Chops Dogs scrambling to get it together Oh the Fun! :D The Dogs will win...but not by much. Quote
QueenPirate Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 We have to stop our mistakes, penalties, fumbles and so on for this to be a close one. With that said, my Pirates by 3. Quote
akifan94 Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 I talked to and old buddy of mine in Vidor. He gave me some inside scoop about the Pirates. Before anybody gets bent out of shape he didn't tell me I could not post this. So Coach Mathews, I apologize if you did not want this out. Here it is. Vidor is breaking out a new offense for the Nederland game. It will consist of a Power "T" formation with the QB under center. A FB directly behind the QB and a LHB and RHB to each side of the FB. There will be two wide outs lined up tight off the tackles. At the snap these burners will criss cross in the backfield while the FB runs a dive left or dive right. At this point the QB has four options. Either WO, the FB dive, or keeping it himself. THEN, depending on which way the QB decides to go, he can then run the triple option with the two HB's. I was told to watch for a lot of triple fakes, then fake triple option, with a pass to the previously mentioned criss crossing WO's running seam routes off the triple fake. Here is the real kicker. A triple fake, fake triple option with a pump fake to a Statue of Liberty. Look for this at least twice in the game. Given all that. Nederland 27 - Vidor 18 JacksonslaDe05 and prepballfan 2 Quote
prepballfan Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Hey akifan Im sure Matthews doesnt mind you telling all his secrets this early before the game......... Unless it was supposed to be leaked so Nederland will work on that right up til they never see it in a game Quote
snafu Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 they worked on that during the 2adays.... but thought they had scraped it.... I guess from the cinders of the fires arise the Phoenix... can't hurt... more confusion couldn't hurt since there is no tape with us running it... Quote

Nederland 27 - Vidor 18 Ok... and all it takes is the DEs and LBs to stay home and blow all that up, or a defensive player to get in the backfield and cause a fumble or pick-6. Sounds like a recipe for potential disaster if it doesn't work. Quote

Mark my words, Nederland 27 - Vidor 18. You can argue all day if you like but I am not changing my stance. Nederland has never seen an offense like this. Heck, the state of Texas is in for a shock. Confusion on which side?? It seems from Vidor posters that Vidor already has fumblitis. Running an offense like that would tend to increase that IMO. All well, we will see I guess. Quote
mytwocents-28 Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Well well well the week is here. This should be an interesting thread. Where's my buddy godogs?? Lmao I see this game going down to the wire like it has so many times with Vidor winning it in the fourth quarter. Quote
Bigdog Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Well , recent history ( the past 3 Ned games this season) would seem to favor the Pirates with it being a home game. The past 53 years or so of history not so much. :) Mr. Buddy Garrity and bigned85 2 Quote
Bigdog Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 And this group still has the streak to defend also, another motivating factor. bigned85 1 Quote
